    I had to just turn the game off for the first time in forever. Watching your team play against the Guardians is about as enjoyable as being mauled to death by gnats.

    I think that’s why he wasn’t. One run doesn’t matter as much in this scenario. If it was a one run game he’d have been in there for sure. Although that doesn’t really explain why he did put Urias in.

    I just looked up Cease’s recent stats and…wow.

    The general rule of thumb is this: the worse a pitcher is, the more likely it is that he will shut down the Orioles.

    Everyone complaining about the Flaherty trade, apparently it could have been worse. Did he just say there was a rumor we were going to trade Jackson Holliday for Dylan Cease?

    And the Rays still have 6 games left against Toronto.

    Yeah, of course. I’m just saying worst case all we have to do is finish .500 against three teams who are under .500.

    If this lead holds, 5-5 in our last 10 is all we need to win the division. We do that and Tampa would have to finish 8-1 to overtake us. It would also get us to 100 wins, which would be nice.

    Yeah, you didn’t need to watch to get the gist of that situation. He was not even close to the zone on most pitches.

    I know they haven’t been as good lately, but they are still 5th in the majors in ERA. You might be overstating it a little bit.

    Yeah, if this goes to extras, we’re in trouble.

    I know Kjerstad’s average is not great yet, but he looks way more comfortable at the plate than Cowser.

    I agree. I’m just trying to add up enough arms to fill the bullpen and struggling to do it.

    Our infielders throw a lot of balls in the dirt at first. It normally doesn’t matter.

    I forgot it had only been three days for Mr “I can’t bounce back after a start.” Totally changes my thoughts on this decision.

    Honestly, if we can get Flaherty to pitch a couple of innings and only give up 2 runs, that’s probably the best we can reasonably expect at this point. Everyone else is toast.

    Ok, I was on board with the Lopez experiment when it seemed like maybe he was getting better, but I’m over it now.

    I guess this is the only reason Flaherty is still on this team?

    Have we heard anything about whether or not they are sticking with a 6 man rotation? They have to give up on Flaherty at this point, don’t they?
