I had to just turn the game off for the first time in forever. Watching your team play against the Guardians is about as enjoyable as being mauled to death by gnats.
I think that’s why he wasn’t. One run doesn’t matter as much in this scenario. If it was a one run game he’d have been in there for sure.
Although that doesn’t really explain why he did put Urias in.
Everyone complaining about the Flaherty trade, apparently it could have been worse. Did he just say there was a rumor we were going to trade Jackson Holliday for Dylan Cease?
If this lead holds, 5-5 in our last 10 is all we need to win the division. We do that and Tampa would have to finish 8-1 to overtake us.
It would also get us to 100 wins, which would be nice.
Honestly, if we can get Flaherty to pitch a couple of innings and only give up 2 runs, that’s probably the best we can reasonably expect at this point.
