  1. Fair enough but there’s a mountain of a diff Between the opportunity Holliday got and Kjerstad’s
  2. No, I don’t, but he looked awful. What was he striking out out of 40% clip?
  3. None of this matters if these guys don’t get a chance to play
  4. They made a horrible decision on Kimbrel. He struggled a bunch in Phillie last year. He’s looked no different here and mostly appears a high wire act. A big waste of $12 million while still under John Angelos.
  5. So I went for a look at the early result Ortiz has a OPS of .843 OPS which includes a OBP of .368. He has 18 Ks in around 80 ABs and 14 walks. He has 9 XBH (2 Hrs). I Hall has a 7 ERA so far as a starter…. I am not surprised and was convinced his success would come as a short stint 2 pitch guy. Plus they have the A comp pick id say the trade looks pretty fair ….. Wonder how W Sox feel about ORTIZ now. Thoughts ?
  6. This article mentions Mayo and Bradfield . That’s I price I’d think is reasonable for a closer controlled until 2029. https://birdswatcher.com/posts/orioles-rumors-painful-mason-miller-trade-package-bradfield-mayo-01hxhkes3r23
  7. The Orioles could find interest in Kopech if the White Sox are already done. I’d like to see Elias pounce early assuming Getz asking price is within reason. He now has 26 Ks in 19 innings, a 6 h/9 and a hr/9 of 1.4. Plus 4 saves … He’s blown a few but I’m wondering if their defense is still lousy. Seems like a good get if you don’t need him to close.
  8. Well tied with 69 & 70 teams that Divison and World Series respectively! Great time to be an O’s fan! https://www.mlb.com/news/jordan-westburg-singles-for-orioles-walk-off-win-in-11-innings#:~:text=Baltimore has matched its best, they won the World Series).
  9. So thinking about this my answer is really neither. IMO McKenna is more of a AAAA player. He was pumped for his speed and defense. The problem is his defense has been shaky at times and he’s a bat that would be exposed if he had to play regularly. As for Hays…. He’s just a solid player. Offensively, he’s just a sub .325 OBP guy. And I think we can do better with one of the guys waiting in the wings. His power doesn’t make it worth putting up a low OBP. Plus his cheap years are ending. So it gets expensive to keep him. I honestly think we should purge both. If I was pressed I’d probably keep Hays until I could add/bring up a ready LF. I see that Norby has 22 games in the OF and I’m. Hoping they determine he be an average to plus OF.
  10. This is what Roch had to say after the game last night.
  11. I think he’s just awful right now. I hope Elias isn’t overly stubborn on this. Admit defeat and clear Kimbrel and his $12 million off this roster.
  12. Doesn’t look to a sound defensive player to me.
  13. Yeah ….totally agree! We can cut Kimbrel loose and acquire another closer.
  14. A bit premature to worry about this early. Plus they do platoon him with O’Hearn. I’d be selective when using him against righties.
  15. I boycotted some of the dark Angelos years. Don’t know that I could ever stay away for very long.
