I hate the idea of trading for an established guy tbh and especially a rental. I'd rather the O's create a pipeline of talent that they can continue to rely on that will position them for success for a decade, rather than go all-in for a few years. I think it's the more sustainable way to build a franchise, especially when you're a smaller market team. It could mean flipping a top hitting prospect for a top pitching prospect. Find trading partners who are complementary (i.e. organizations with a surplus of pitching prospects relative to position players). Despite being a contender, I'd rather trade established guys to clear room for our prospects, and restock the system, rather than trade prospects for established guys.

Why make this personal? People should be able to give their opinions on a message board without the founder of the message board personally attacking them unprovoked. Just my 2c.

As in, another instance and you'd want him gone? Elias and the FO are building a foundation that will enable them to be a team I haven't witnessed in my lifetime - a consistent competitive team. I have 100% confidence in the process of the FO. Will every decision pan out? Of course not. But has the FO helped the organization more than any other FO in my lifetime? Without a doubt. My much greater concern is that Elias, Sig, et al leave because another organization realizes how valuable they are.
