  1. I didn't say they were great. But I also think people here have different expectations from local broadcasters and what you get on a national broadcast. I don't know if I've seen anyone on here be complimentary of a national broadcast crew no matter the situation (playoffs, in-season broadcast, etc). Like, a national broadcast team is supposed to talk about things at a general level. They're not supposed to be super in depth about the Orioles, they'll know a few things that they'll have found on some simple research, but overall they're really not here for us...and when I say us, I mean the die hard Orioles fans who are aware of what side Connor Norby leans when he farts in the Tides dugout. So, I don't expect great things from the Apple TV broadcast crew tomorrow night because they're not here to cater to people like me. And I'll enjoy not listening to Kevin Brown.
  2. Just put two and two together and realized tomorrow night is an Apple TV broadcast. So, two straight games free of Kevin Brown.
  3. Yeah, this wasn't a good play for McKenna. Santander isn't a slouch out there, I don't know if he needs to be subbed for on defense or not.
  4. I don't know if the leg kick has anything to do with it or not. I'm willing to accept that it does, I also wouldn't be surprised if it didn't. Like I've said before, Ben made that comment and people have taken it and ran with it. I agree there's more velocity in the majors, but it's not like he hasn't seen it before. Whatever the issue is, I'm confident JH will come back and be fine.
  5. I don't know if he's "done" but I think the valleys are too long and the peaks aren't enough. I agree he's a 4th outfielder, whether or not he's accepting of that role remains to be seen. All I know is that I'd rather see Cowser getting the majority of starts in LF moving forward when Hays comes back.
  6. Sucks to hear about that experience at Nats Stadium, @Frobby If you ever go back, I'd suggest driving somewhere closer to the stadium and park somewhere else and take an Uber/Lyft to the stadium itself. I used to live in Arlington, like 3-4 miles from Nats Park but I'd never think of driving there and there's no way in hell I'd take the Metro. I'd either leave my car in the garage at work and go straight from there via Uber or go back to my apartment, drop the car there and get a ride to the stadium. Ubers can be pricey but if you don't use them all the time and need the convenience in a situation like this, they're worth it.
  7. That's fine, like I said McKenna is a doofus. Yes, worse instincts than Hays, too. I'm not sure how much better Hays is in the field than McKenna. I'll concede that Hays is a better candidate to throw a runner out. He's got a strong, accurate arm. People can pick their defensive stats that they like, I really don't like investigating with them since they all have inherent flaws, and Hays has way more data to look at in innings, 1195.1 last year compared to McKenna's 78.2 innings. But I don't think McKenna is that far behind him from a defensive (Rtot, Rdrs, rtot/yr rdrs/yr) perspective. I'll concede defense overall but Hays has been so awful with the bat that I'm not sure he makes up for it with the glove.
  8. I know, that's why I did it to you just then. Frustrating, isn't it? You're the one that can't admit how terrible Hays has been so that must mean you think he's pretty good, at least. Feel free to correct me or admit that I'm right!
  9. Well, you must think that Hays has been performing great since the second half of last year then. Glad we could clear that up.
  10. @Sports Guyand I show stats. You're like "uh, yes he is." Super convincing there. I'll concede that McKenna doesn't have enough at bats to make a full comp, but I'd rather give him at bats instead of Hays. If you can't at least see how bad Hays has been since last year, there's really no reason to keep replying to you.
  11. Totally serious, go check the Hays thread. SG laid out the stats, I did too. McKenna's been performing better than him by a solid margin since ASB last year. Granted, he doesn't have as many at-bats but still. Mateo's outperformed Hays with the bat since then, too. Fully aware that McKenna's a 40 watt bulb in a 60 watt socket, you won't get any argument from me there. If that's your main complaint, I don't disagree.
  12. No, you're not alone. I also want to see Adley hit .300. Waiting for @DrungoHazewoodto come in and admonish me for enjoying stats that are archaic and random and don't mean anything. Here's a live look-in at me not caring:
