  1. Hard to argue with you. I could see him as a very useful 4th OF.
  2. That’s not how I see it. You’re in a 1-0 game, the strategy is different than 3-0. For example, Cedric had a one-out single in the 8th inning, down 3-0. There was no reason for him to attempt a steal then, but if it’s 1-0, maybe he does try it. Anyway, I don’t want to take this too far off track. I just wish Adley was throwing a little better.
  3. I’m not saying they are trying harder. But they have a good ability to stay focused following adversity. For example, last year the bullpen blew 31 saves, but only 15 losses resulted because the offense was able to retake the lead so often. That’s not easy to do.
  4. Maybe it isn’t all that damaging in the “grand scheme of things.” But last night, two of the three runs scored on singles immediately following a stolen base. So the stolen bases were very important last night. If there was ever a night to “harp on it,” that was the night. (BTW, I’m not saying those steals were entirely on Adley.)
  5. I don’t care how good a player is, we’re still going to point out his flaws. And I don’t think you really have a problem with that, do you? I don’t see anyone saying “trade Adley, his throws to 2B are weak.” It’s just an area of his game I’d like to see improve.
  6. I do think the O’s have shown above average resilience the last two years, i.e., ability to not get down when the other team grabs a lead in some potentially demoralizing way. But they’re also a very good team so that could just be the law of averages playing out.
  7. Skimpy evidence, which is why I said “he may…” rather than “I think he is…”. It’s more a theory than a factual assertion. He’s thrown the second-most innings in the International League, his pitch count has been increased from earlier this season, and his performance has been going down a little the last three outings. That’s all I’ve got.
  8. It would be nice if Adley didn’t bounce 75% of his throws to 2B (my estimate). I’m really not impressed with the accuracy of his throws.
  9. Scroll back a page and find out.
  10. Where are you getting your list of 28?

    Max Wagner 2024

After a one-game FCL warm-up, Max Wagner played his first full-season game last night at Aberdeen and homered, going 1 for 4. Wagner finished last year at Bowie and presumably will head back there soon.

    Moises Chace 2024

3 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 2 BB, 5 K’s yesterday, on 64 pitches, 36 strikes. Not an efficient outing. Chace pitched to two batters in the 4th inning, allowing a hit and a walk.
  13. I’m sure there were several, as I hadn’t realized they gave a Silver Slugger for pitchers. Yovanni Gallardo was the most popular correct answer.
  14. Fabian is on a nice little heater. After hitting .227/.325/.379 in April, in his first 5 games of May he’s hitting .381/.435/.952 with 4 homers. That’s raised his overall line to .264/.350/.517. His K rate hasn’t moved, with 7 K’s in 21 PA in May.
