  1. He was snoozing because no one expects a major league outfielder to airmail a throw to the cutoff man when the runner was not even trying to go to second.
  2. I think it surprised him. Who thinks a major league outfielder is going to overthrow the cutoff man on a play where the runner would in no way be trying for second. Then it short-hopped him on top of it.
  3. Since scoring three runs in the 1st inning, the Orioles have now been outscored 7-1 and pretty much have looked interested. Gunnar has been a turd since he was domianted by a 91 MPH left-handed fastball for three straight strikes. He needs to sit and get his head straight. This game would have been a good game to give him a day off after his Little League at bat last night with the bases loaded. Instead, he's out he dropping balls, striking out looking, and pretty much looking like he needs a mental break. He's too good to look like this mentally.
  4. No, Jorge did nothing wrong. Cowser made an overthrow and Gunnar just plain dropped a pick off throw by Burnes. Just an utter clown show defensively this inning. Seems like the a hangover from yesterday.
  5. That was not Jorge, that was Cowser's overthrow. Gunnar just plain dropped the ball. Now Mateo can't make an accurate throw (maybe wet?)
  6. At some point they have to talk to Cowser about his throwing. It's becoming an issue despite the strength of the arm. All he had to do is hit the cutoff man easily.
  7. Quite the clowshow in the last two minutes.
  8. I think if you look at the drafts from those 2nd and 3rd rounds you are going to see most teams miss more than they hit. I would like to see Elias take more high school players in the top 5 rounds since he's had pretty good success (Gunnar, Hernaiz, Mayo), but if you look at those rounds you can see lots of HS busts as well. Elias has obviously hit pretty well, but he's going to miss more than he hits because that's just the nature of the draft.
  9. Baumann has pitched once for the Marines and walked 2 of the 4 batters he faced. What makes you think he wouldn't be part of the problem still?
  10. He still kicks some balls coming at him on hard line shots or grounders occasionally. His routes are not great but I haven't seen him miss many balls that he should have gotten to, maybe none. But I don't watch every play of every game.
  11. That would be hilarious, but it resolved to Denver, CO.
  12. Thanks Dee. I do think Norby is going to hit at the major league level and he's starting to become a competent outfielder. That should help his trade value. I don't think many teams would want to live with his defense at 2B and that hurts his value. If he can show that he can play all three outfield positions (he's only play LF and Rf) that would also help his value as a 4th outfielder type. Unless they see him as a Hays/McKenna replacement, I think he's got more value in a trade for a reliever to a team that will use him a an everyday corner outfielder. Oakland seems like a nice fit.
  13. I don't think the Orioles want to do this. Now could they potentially do that, sure, but I think they would bring up Maton or Vavra and go with a platoon with them and Urias if Westburg went down.
  14. It is very odd which is why I'm monitoring the account closely. To be so upset over the new ownership is literally insane.
  15. Maybe, but he's had 27 professional innings there and besides, when Westburg is getting a day off, Mateo will need to be in there at 2B anyways with the current roster. Mateo has been so good at 2B, I doubt they'd want to move him around and would just prefer a player with experience at 3B.
  16. If you guys report these posts they will be reviewed quicker. We're not on here 24/7. I did end up giving him a day off for trolling. I doubt it will change him and I'll probably have to remove him from the community.
  17. Ok, I just got on here and started reading this thread and you need a day off to cool down. Stop trolling the board and stop changing the subject of threads.
  18. Norby's issues is he doesn't play 3B. Who backs up Westburg at 3B if Urias is replaced by Norby? Sure, Gunnar could play there, but he's the everyday SS. Nick Maton or potentially Vavra certainly could be a replacement for Urias if the team thinks they can play 3B effectively enough to give Westburg a day off here and there.
  19. What saves Urias is his ability to play 3B and give Westburg some time off. Vavra has played 5 games at 3B at Norfolk without an error and Nick Maton 8 without an error. If Urias goes, Maton would probably have first shot at replacing him though it's clear they are trying to see if Vavra can play 3B effectively.
  20. Sounds like Rutschman sequencing sometimes. lol
  21. Nice oppo shot. Estrada is starting to have the best year among the Latin American prospects so far. He's really been coming on with the bat.
  22. Very sorry for your loss Roy. Bill sounded like a wonderful man and friend to you. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and all who knew him closely.
