  1. Sounds like Rutschman sequencing sometimes. lol
  2. Nice oppo shot. Estrada is starting to have the best year among the Latin American prospects so far. He's really been coming on with the bat.
  3. Very sorry for your loss Roy. Bill sounded like a wonderful man and friend to you. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and all who knew him closely.
  4. Suarez can't go back. He'd have to be DFA'd.
  5. 100% Gunnar deserved that taken from him after that embarrassing at bat with the bases loaded. He should donate his paycheck tonight.
  6. Wouldn't you be after this game?
  7. The Orioles need to call him Mr. Bernardino the way he's treating them like Little Leaguers. No way with his stuff he should be dominating them. Yet hear we are gettin absolutely embarrased by 91-92 mph Fastball in the middle of the plate. Almost t comical watching them try and hit this clear dominant reliever with unhittable stuff.
  8. I just came in here to say that when a lefty can throw three 91 mph Fastballs in the strike zone ans you strike out, you can not claim to be one of the best players in baseball. Gunnar with one of his most embarrassing at bats in thr major leagues. Sure Austin Hays sucked it up, and Mateo sucked it up, but they are no supposed to be on the best players in MLB.
  9. I heard the job is open though!
  10. I think you are a little too fired up over this and are digging your heels in a bit. The only issue with Vieira imploding was that they had to burn two more relievers in a game when they should have had to. I doubt many people care about whether it was a 11-0 or 11-3 win. It was still a blowout win. I have little hope Vieira will ever be a good major leauge pitcher with the command/control that I saw, but i don't have an issue with Elias giving him a shot if the real reason was to spend his major league salary on acquiring the FCL pitcher lottery ticket. Now if Vieira stays on the roster long past when he should and the team plays a reliever down while they work on him, I'll have more issues. But I'll cross the bridge if they get there.
  11. I don't think the word irresponsible is the right word to use here at all, but Vieira has not been good at the major league level ever, and we can see his command is absolutely terrible. We can even see in statcast data that despite his velocity, his stuff is not very good overall though by looking at the arm side run he gets at times, it's probably that he doesn't have good stuff consistently enough. I think Cano and Vieira are a bit of an apples to oranges situation too. I also doubt even Elias knew Cano would turn into who he turned into. saying that, Cano did throw an immaculate inning with the Twins AAA affiliate the year they acquired him. So he at least flashed that promise.
  12. Eh, he still has Vespi and while I had very little hope that Vieira would be any good, I don't think anyone would think he wouldn't even be usable in a 11-0 game. He was here to be the mop up guy until they can DFA him and bring up another arm. the fact that they cleared a spot on the 40-man by DFAing Ort tells me they may be making another move for another last man type or a guy like McDermott or Strowd for a bullpen job. Saying that, they could give Matt Krook a look too.
  13. Good riddance. Another guy with a good arm who doesn't have any command.
  14. Stowers better not going 0-fer anytime soon.
  15. So you genialized the board over one poster vs addressing that poster?
  16. Wait, who is offended? Did I miss where people are up and arms over this trade. I think most of us know this was probably more about the lottery ticket prospect assigned to the FCL than Vieira. Of course Stallings was not a real prospect, but I'll be honest, when his change up is on, he would at least eat some innings vs Vieira who can't land a strike. I expect Vieira to be DFA'd shortly. His stat cast data shows his stuff is not really that good anyways despite the velocity. He's like a worse version of Fuji. Either way, I see people discussing the trade not being "offended" over this trade.
  17. Not me. He's a guy I'd DFA and see if I can get him to Norfolk to work on things. But at his age, he's pretty much what he is and that's a guy with a good arm and no idea where it's going.
  18. He is making adjustments, but I'm not sure any of us can say when he will be back. Mateo is playing well at 2B right now and while we know that typically doesn't last with the bat, I don't think the Orioles feel a rush to bring him back up the second he starts doing well. He could be back up by July, or he may not be back until September. It just really depends on how he's doing and the Orioles need at 2B.
  19. Of course you know that was not the Orioles choice. The Orioles had to make a move when Bradish came off and it was either send Akin down of DFA another pitcher, and Baumann was the most likely to go based off his inconsistencies. Of course anyone would prefer to have Baumann over Vieira, but unfortunately, the roster crunch at the time dictated a move.
  20. Stowers has always had very good EVs in the minors and hits lefties and righties. As Frobby pointed out, he's a hot/cold guy for sure, but I do think he's ready for everyday PAs for awhile. Sometimes you have to ride the hot bat.
  21. Updated through Memorial Day May 27th! Pitchers year so far this year!
  22. He's going to be DFA'd after the game. You won't have to worry about that.
  23. Alex Ochoa? He once threw a ball like ten rows deep past 3rd base with Bowie.
  24. So thanks to Vieira we'll have to burn Perez and probably another reliever for the 9th.
