  1. Can't have that happen. Can't load bases with no outs.
  2. Ok, good. Now Cowser against Rodon is not a great matchup in this situation.
  3. Yankees have good pitching, There's a reason they are battling with us for 1st place.
  4. If he keeps pitching to a sub 1.50 ERA he certainly will.
  5. I have my moments!
  6. Catch probability agrees with you making it a 99% probability (1-star). Looked like he may have gotten a late start and ran a bit of an arc route. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sporty-videos?playId=0e505f0b-93d7-464d-8229-b5314df13752
  7. I'll be honest, I did not see them. Though in my defense, Sports Guy weaves a tapestry of insults like Mozart puts together a piano concerto, so I may have missed them due to normalcy bias.
  8. I don't have time to look up major league comps, but after looking at his statcast last night, this is repertoire with movement. Remember, these are averages. He throws some better, some worse. Pitch MPH HMOV VMOV Fastball 91.8 9 -13 Curveball 75.2 -9 -65 (He has some as high as 70) Cutter 88.2 -2 -25 Sweeper 82.7 -12 -39 (most inconsistent pitch) Change 84.8 14 -30 Because he has not reached the big league yet, it does not give us movement date besides a pitch graph in a pitch breakdown, so these are generalized. I did noticed he really struggled to get his changeup over (18% zone) and only had a 48% in zone for his fastball. He used his cutter the second most of his pitches and got that over at 73% and his sweeper, although inconsistent by movement, he got over 71% (only threw 7 though). Seems to me he's incorporating the cutter in more and the curveball has plus movement and plus plus at times for his velocity.
  9. Great advice and information. It's clear Povich has made strides in the areas where we had hope to see him make those strides. He's zoomed ahead as the organization's top pitching prospect and really their only legitimate upper level starting pitching prospect. Povich gets a ton of strikes looking, and that speaks to the quality of stuff. I love the fact that they let him get out 98 pitches already which tells me his pitch count was 100. It's hard not to like what we've seen so far from this young man.
  10. We don't name call here. Feel free to disagree, but take personal beefs off the site.
  11. I just never got the Carter love or why anyone thought he should get the bonus he got. He was coming off a horrid junior season and even in his "breakout" sophomore season he struck out too much against inferior college pitching. I've never seen him flash a plus tool, he was a huge disappointment defensively, and he just can't hit. The fact that they spent 30K on a guy like Jalen Vasquez and he looks like a much better player in almost every aspect really shows that no matter how far evaluations have come, there are still going to busts and guys who "overachieve" based on draft status. The one thing the Carter situation hopefully taught the Orioles brass is that you can't just ignore college stats (particularly when they are not good) from a hitter's perceptive. They've tried this tact a few times now and not surprising, they can't hit in the pros either.
  12. Early on I tend to not move guys much at the top unless of extreme performances one way or the other. You could argue Povich's start is an extremely good start and he could be bumped up. They're pretty exchangeable as prospects talent goes so I wouldn't argue if someone thought Povich belonged ahead of Beavers.

He doesn't really drive the ball in the air much in the air very much so I don't think this a situation where doubles turn into home runs. He's got a pretty mature body from what I can see so he'd need a swing/approach change to tap into that power more often in my opinion. I still like him a a 4th outfielder with some upside.
  14. Guess I should have read through the while thread. It's the obvious move and makes me think Kimbrel is probably available tonight or very soon.
  15. You have to wonder if Kimbrel is still not feeling great that IL him and back date it. Elias hates to give up pitchers and I think he knows he'll lose Ramirez or Baumann if the DFA one, and Akin has been too valuable to option.
  16. Your conspiracy theories against teams just screwing over the millionaire ball players are pretty epic. No one is going to hold a IL stint for a few weeks in his 2nd season against him in anything. This line of thinking is so over the the top its not funny. Every pitcher has soreness after starts. Maybe Grayson has had a little extra and they just want to calm down the soreness and the fact that they need a spot in the rotation while coming up against "weaker" opponents is a good time to get him settled down, and keep him fresher for later in the year. Why do you think Grayson or anyone would have a problem with that line of thinking? A "phantom" IL stint is a Jimenez pothole IL stint where the pitcher can't be removed from the active roster but is pitching so poorly that they just want to reset him a bit and get a pitcher on the roster that can help. At the end of the day, what we all need to hope is this is just a cautionary IL stint to calm down some shoulder soreness and not anything more.
  17. It's only a choice for outfielders. There is no catch percentage for infielders.
  18. This is a real interesting point and something I never considered. I don't think stadiums and walls are considered in the catch percentages and with Camden Yards being so big in left field now, Cowser will certainly get to balls that most outfielders won't because they would be home runs. Hmm, something to keep an eye on.

He's probably next in line for a promotion to Bowie. I'd like to see him a little more power from him for his size, but he's doing well overall.
  20. Lol, that's unfair. 97 sinker low and outside followed by that slider.
