  1. After watching Coulombe up there throwing a high school level crap up there, I'm happy to see Lopez.
  2. A major league pitcher should not be grunting on every pitch when you throw a 80-81 MPH slider. Embarrassing.
  3. I hate this kind of crap. Look, they wanna celebrate the bombing victims, feel free to have a game dedicated to them. Don't wear ridiculously ugly uniforms with colors that make so sense to the team wearing them.
  4. The Orioles are going to need to get lucky and have someone lone out because Coulombe is throwing BP stuff up there.
  5. GET SOMEONE UP. COULOMBE literally has nothing.
  6. The Red Sox deserve to lose for wearing yellow and blue uniforms when they're the FRICKIN' RED SOX. Stop this uniform madness.
  7. Gotta get someone up. Coulombe has nothing.
  8. Good Lord Coulombe's breaking stuff is absolute crap so far.
  9. I think that's the co-hitting coach Ryan Fuller.
  10. Not Hay's best at bat. Once he got that bad call it looked like it got in his head a bit.
  11. Wouldn't hurt my feelings if the Orioles could tack on another run.
  12. It's going to happen for a bit until I move to a new provider.
  13. BTW, every time you see someone say Hall will be stretched out as a starter once again next spring, please remember this inning.
  14. Stallings had another real good outing last night and was off the charts on WHIFF percentage getting 51% of the 45 swings he got in 85 pitches. His cutter was a real weapon for him and when paired with his slider, I can see why he has some success with them because they have similar shape but his slider breaks more and was 83.5 MPH (AVG) while his cutter has a little less movement but comes in around 86.6 MPH AVG. Together he threw them over 50% of the time and had the Shrimp batters in knots. With an overall 64% of zcontact (contact in the zone) he showed the ability to miss bats in the zone with his stuff and that's always a good sign. Now, the problem with Stallings is you never quite know who you are going to get. Do you get this guy or do you get the guy who gave up 8 ERA on 9 hits and two walks over 65 pitches while recording just 5 outs two starts before? Stalling stuff makes him interesting but he really needs to find consistency because right now, his prospects status is in limbo because he's just never really been consistent over a long period of time as a pro.
  15. That contract was elder abuse. I'm not sure Angelos had all his faculties when Boros had him bid against himself.
  16. I'll be honest, I wasn't thrilled with Flaherty being the only pitcher acquired but the facts are the facts. We do not know what the Orioles offered or who they went after, and I'm certainly not taking up for Angelos because for all I know he would not let Elias take on the contracts of Scherzer, Verlander or Montgomery even if the prospects were agreed upon. We also don't know how the young rotation will hold up in the playoffs. So if I had my druthers, I would feel better with the Orioles having any of them instead of Flaherty in starting rotation right now. But saying all of that, the Orioles have been better than every one of the team that were mentioned and while all three of those guys have out performed Flaherty so far, the records of the teams are what they are since the trad deadline. Now I will admit, when the playoff starts, that's when we'll know whether Elias' conservative approach (whether his decision or Angelos') at the trade deadline worked or not.
  17. All of these teams traded for these players, not signed them. Record since the trade deadline (Aug 1st until Sep 8th) Orioles : 23-10 Rangers: 16-17 Astros: 20-16 Phillies: 20-13 So despite the Orioles lackluster trade deadline acquisition (So far) of Flaherty, they've had the best record of the teams you mentioned. So why the negativity?
  18. 9 out of 9 Rarity score: 74 once again
  19. The second I heard Green was having contact issues on high school that should have been flashing red light on top of a red flag! Mordan has a nice little bat, but the arm is questionable behind the dish and he's on the short side for 1B.
  20. What, because he's struck out 9 times in his first 19 professional PAs or his 1.1 IP in A-ball?
  21. It's not quite as bad as Mountcastle playing SS, but similar i guess. I mean, if you willing to deal with some head scratching awful defensive plays at 2B, feel free to play him there because he'll make a nifty highlight reel play at times too. I just rather find him a true home defensively and perhaps LF is the place. Can't hurt his value overall.
  22. Sure, he's made some nice highlight reel plays, but also some of the most little league errors you will ever see. If the Orioles are playing him at 2B mostly still it's because they are trying to sell him as a second baseman. No way he's ever a starting 2B for the Orioles with his defensive woes. Elias has many interesting decisions to make this offseason, but let's hope it's after a World Series Championship!
