  1. Dude, 90% of high school 1B pick that.
  2. Fan duel, Draft Kings, and every other gambling app can bite me over their incessant commercials.
  3. Not getting on anyone. Just putting out facts.
  4. This team seems to hit in bunches but it they press a little with RISP. They don't really have that "Eddie Murray" type that will get the run in. Rutschman is becoming that guy but no one else really stands out as a guy you feel confident in with RISP and less than two outs.
  5. No, not it's not. It has nothing to do with being a competitor. On the second pitch of the game when you bounce a curveball you don't scream out "F#@$" into your glove. That's immature and shows that he's struggling to contain the emotion you need to be able to contain as a starter through hopefully 6 plus innings.
  6. He was throwing 97-98 at times early last season. His high end velocity has not been there so far this season.
  7. Kremer needs to get his emotions in check!
  8. I'm just going to put this here and allow you to make your own judgement based off the data if you wish. Pitches Strikes IP AVG FB vel SL V MV SL H MV CH v MV CH h MV 2022 MLB Relief 96.2 30.3 9.5 27.8 15 1st start 70 43 3 94.2 29 5 26 16 2nd start 77 49 4.1 93.3 31 6 28 17 3rd start 89 50 4 94.2 31 9 26 12 I'll try and keep this updated through each start to track his progress.
  9. If Santander can play out there, so can Kjerstad. It's just going to be nothing more than merely adequate outfield defense out there. As for running, he's not a slog, but I bet when we see his sprint speeds when he reaches the big leagues they will be below 50%. He's probably close to Stowers' speed. It does make sense for him to be able to play both RF and 1B as it just adds to the versatility of the lineup especially of Mountcastle is still here. I would not be surprised though if his long term position ends up at 1B.
  10. Well, I've never seen Mayo out there so I can't say, but he has better foot speed and a much better arm. Mayo would have a plus-plus arm in RF.
  11. He's a below average runner and from what I saw, does not have great jumps to make up for his below average foot speed. His arm is ok but nothing special in RF. I like the thought of having a big power left-handed hitting 1B in Camden Yards eventually so I like the move.
  12. I hadn't hear that before. Not sure how a pitch would cause an oblique since I don't see anything different in his delivery. Besides, it wasn't just the change, it was the command was missing since the injury. After the first inning on Sunday, it seemed like the command and the changeup returned.
  13. Kjerstad may want to limit his stolen base attempts because he head first "scorpion slide" is awkward and very risky for injury.
  14. He's never been a guy for me because he never had a major league out pitch for me. However, it's a new year so I will give him a look again. It's hard to judge him so far since he's he's pitched twice at home, where the Bowie Baysox management embarrassingly refuses to add in a center field camera despite being a AA affiliate. He's got a funky delivery and the announcer in his last start did mention he hit 94 on a fastball. Looks to me after watching a few innings that he's using a change and slider as well. Once I get a centerfield angle and velocity info I'll be able to give a better report for this year. Plusses for him includes that he pitches quickly, and attacks hitters.
  15. Now that he found his changeup, I think Rodriguez is here to stay unless he strings several really bad starts in a row and needs a reset.
  16. This^^^^^^^ Plus, he can afford to have 20-pitch inning in relief but that doesn't work as a starter or he'll never get into that 6th inning very often. Hall had a 69% strike rate in relief last year with the Orioles. He has a 60% strike rate in his three starts this year and a 63% as a starter last year AAA. Trust me, I get why people want to wait on Hall because of the repertoire, but he's 24-year old (turns 25 in Sept) and he's pitched 5 innings or more in just 4 of his 21 AAA starts. I know I'd rather have him in the pen than Gillaspie an with Perez not as sharp this year, it makes sense to have that 3rd lefty (4th when Akin returns) out there.

    Coby Mayo 2023

A really good write up here. I don't see anything to disagree with.
  18. Hit his 4th HE tonight, a 400+ ft bomb to center!
  19. 100% that's who he reminds me of physically. The hair is the same too!
  20. Keep it up!! The Orioles always do better when I'm negative in the game thread. I got skills!
  21. I like to call that the reverse jinx skills!
  22. Gotta give Grayson a lot of credit for finding his changeup finally and flashing that promise of a TOR.
  23. He might be. He's listed 285 but those are frequently wrong. At least he's not listed as 6-5, 180 any more. lol
