  1. He looks a little more filled out to me, but that's just watching him today. Maybe it's the beard. lol
  2. Cowser looks like he filled out already. It will be interesting to see how that affects his power and range in the outfield.
  3. Updated through today's comeback win led by the prospects and O'Hearn!
  4. I wonder if the real CF camera went down? This almost looks like a hand held by how low it is and how much it's swaying.
  5. I just don't think a little bit better vertical movement is going to suddenly give him a top 5 four seamer. I just really question the STUFF+ for now.
  6. A little Texas Leaguer for Frazier's first spring hit.
  7. Once I'd like to hear a spring training interview when the player is asked about the "vibe in the clubhouse" he'd say, "You, know, it really is down-trodden. Pretty much these guys are some of the biggest jerks I've ever met and I barely know anyone. There is open hostility in the air at all times. i feel like this is going to be a terrible year"
  8. And we have a Givens sighting!
  9. Yes, less vertical the better.
  10. Santander with a nice play at 1B defensively. Looks ok over there so far.
  11. Irvin pitching.. MASN feed just went out for me here at work in top of 1st.
  12. Eh, I don't really know what to make of STUFF+, but what I do know is that his fastball is not much different than the one he used last year minus about an inch LESS of vertical movement. Yet batters put up a .376 XWOBA and a 46.6% Hard hit percentage against the pitch last year. So while STUFF+ may give him high grades this spring, major league hitters don't seem to be too impressed. I think STUFF+ probably has a long way to go before it's should be used in any meaningful evaluation of a major league pitcher.
  13. Maybe if Vavra takes some vitamins "once" he could get the same doubles power explosions? Honestly, there are some similarities to Vavra and Brob's games. Both were college SS that had to move in the pros to 2B because of a lack of arm strength. Both have good contact skills and the ability to hit lines drives all over the field. Both have coaching Dads and are smallish over achievers physically. Now Vavra lost a year due to COVID and will most likely not get the sudden power jump that Brob got, but they are not terribly dissimilar players.
  14. I guess at the end of the day, this service time manipulation should have really been negotiated better by the players union at the last collective bargaining agreement.
  15. I for one loves this because it allows me time to watch more of the minor league games as well. Or who knows, watch something with my wife as well.
  16. I'm really hoping that the Orioles do not have him on an innings cap. He's pitching at 23 years old this year, time to let him do his thing. Saying that, Elias' M.O. is to gain as much service time as he can with his high value prospects so I would not be surprised with him starting the year on the IL or sent down to "work on something" until they gain the extra year. This would also allow the Wells-Voth situation have more time to conclude.
  17. I hope he pitches well through his 60-65 pitches, then the bullpen implodes and they lose. Then they lose whatever it takes to be knocked out so we can get him back in camp where he can safely be used in games that really don't matter again this spring.
  18. Krehbiel's velocity was down and the way he ended last year, he could be a guy who could go if they needed space. Cano has a good arm, as does Gillaspie, but both are probably bubble roster guys as well. But the point is valid, the 40-man roster has more talent than it has had in the recent past for sure. Is it stacked? That's a matter of your definition of stacked.
  19. Well there we go! Thanks.
  20. I'm on record as being very positive on the returns he was able to get for Lopez and Mancini. Povich and Johnson were good gets and the rest are good arms or young pitches to work with by the organization. Even if for what ever reason they don't pan out, the return values based on the players and contracts were good.
  21. Post all information, news, twitter stuff, or videos of minor league spring training here. Norfolk opens up March 31st this year.
  22. Guess we'll see. Where did see that he will be pitching this week? Has anyone even mentioned him this spring?
