  1. Thanks for the update. Typically I try to get everyone in so we know they played and are healthy then just update with anything significant But I would love to get some help on this by posting in the thread like you did. Makes it easier for me to update.
  2. Really nice win against Northwestern yesterday. Best I've seen them shoot the ball all year. It really is amazing how well this team this plays at home and how bad on the road.
  3. Perhaps. It's not a worry just an observation. Mountcastle and Hays haven't played yet either.
  4. Updated thru yesterday's 10-6 win over Tigers. Interestingly Gunnar Henderson has not played yet.
  5. Updated with first game of the season. https://www.milb.com/gameday/twins-vs-orioles/2023/02/25/719393#game_state=final,game_tab=,game=719393
  6. How do you know your business model has failed miserably? You decide you need to put advertisements on your uniforms! Tacky and ridiculous.
  7. I have little doubt Holliday will be the #1 prospect by mid season if not before. Hopefully because both Gunnar and GRod have graduated and he's doing well.
  8. There is always one person that does, but I don't really care, I'm used to it. At the end of the day, a poster said he doesn't think people took a hot streak into consideration but that's just not true.
  9. My only thought is they know Hall has a floor of a very good left-handed reliever which perhaps lowers his bust percentage. Personally I think Rodriguez at 40% is very high, but I don't know how they come up with these percentages.
  10. Let's just get one thing straight, I took EVERYTHING into consideration when I placed him where I did. It's a credit to the guys above him that they are above him, not that there is something wrong with Cowser. It's typical posters who like to take pot shots at me and my evaluations who want to say Cowser wasn't given credit for anything. I'm ok with it though. Everyone is entitled to disagree and create their own rankings and the best point of all is the new season is a little more than a month away. As I said, Cowser has the "most likely" outcome as a major league regular. That's pretty darn good.
  11. I don't think it's a reach to make Holliday the number 2 prospect over Grayson and honestly, you could build a case for him to be #1 if he shows no platoon issues like Henderson has currently. He only had 20 PAs against them between the FCL and Delmarva so it's way too much of a SSS to make any conclusions. As for the rest, I'm not going to change my list until we start to hear and see things this spring. At the start of the season, I'll have the power rankings started and we'll start this process all over! That's when the fun really starts!!
  12. As @Frobby pointed out, my thoughts are pretty clear on the order. Saying that, I can see why guys like Armbruster more than me because at times, the fastball up and slider can play so he's got some solid reliever vibes for me. But he MUST improve that changeup to have something to defend himself against lefties. As for Denoyer, this is what stood out to me "The quality of stuff shows in his 17.4% swinging strike rate that was only behind Nick Vespi and DL Hall among pitchers at AA or AAA. Overall he held batters to a .194/.251/.322/.573 slash line with an impressive 99-17 K-BB ratio in 71.2 IP." As for Watson, the stuff is just kinda bleh overall and he doesn't have a consistent out pitch. Like I said in his quick bio though, he could throw harder and get a uptick of stuff in a relief role. I'm higher on Denoyer than some others, but without statcast data, his statistical success gives him a step above for me.
  13. Agreed. Kjerstad could be #2 on our list or out of the top 20 after this season. We really don't know who the real Kjerstad is but we should after this season at Bowie.
  14. Voth is kind of forgotten by many because of how he came out of nowhere to pitch well for the Orioles last year. He pitched really well for the Orioles but he's more of a 50 pitch guy than a starter. He also doesn't really have much of a changeup so he uses his cutter more against lefties. The problem is, it appears he struggles to pitch on short rest over his career. He's a bit of a tweener pitcher. Historically, he has the fatigue level of a reliever, but needs more than 1 or 2 days rest to be effective. His best role might be as a right-handed long guy though I could see the Orioles move Voth this spring to a team that may see him as a starter for them.
  15. Hmm, that's a great question. He would be #4 on our current list before DL Hall.
  16. If you go by true rookie status like I do, no, he's not eligible, but it's hard to find the days active on the 26-man roster without going through game logs and transactions, so I can understand why they need to draw a different line in the sand due to doing so many players and teams. As for my list, Stowers would be just ahead of Norby. As for the list, BA has always ranked guys with draft status and bonus as a heavy part it's criteria so it's not surprising to see them go with their first 13 selections as mostly 1st round/2nd round picks/million bonus guys. Saying that, I don't really have huge issues with any of their rankings though they like Cowser a bit more than more and don't like Mayo as much as I do. Saying that, I think we all know I've been bullish on Mayo. This year though should give us a pretty good indications of his prospects status and yes, I think he needed to start playing some 1B and or RF along with 3B just so the Orioles have more options for him when/if he's ready.
  17. It's hard to argue with the conclusion since Fabian has major league defensive center field abilities right now. Kjerstad did not show well last year until he got to the hitter friendly AFL but Aberdeen and the Sally League as a whole seems like a bad hitters league (I'm guessing the lighting/batter's eyes are not good) so it's hard to judge to him too harshly. Now saying that, he's got the best pure power of them all so he's got a nice ceiling offensively and why he's higher than both on the top prospect list. Beavers is really hard to judge for me because the talent is there, but I need to see him over a whole season before getting too high of low, but he seems to be the guy who could end up the best all around player of the three, though I wouldn't rule Fabian out in this department.
  18. We know that Gibson and Irvin are locks and that Kremer and Bradish will need to implode or get hurt to not have a rotation spot, so a lot of Wells' making the rotation depends on how the Orioles handle Grayson Rodriguez's innings this year. I'm hoping they take the kid gloves of Rodriguez and let him go pitch, but if they decide to manage his innings early, I could see him starting 3-5 innings with Wells coming in and hopefully getting through the rest of the game. Saying that, since Wells has that experience of working out the of pen, he can help bridge that time until Tate is ready as well. While I sure wouldn't want to close the door on Wells starting, he's got the opportunity to be an impact reliever if he focuses on that.
  19. Do we? Or do we know the results of how he's run the organization so far? Other then meeting him a few times (Very cordial and seemed like a good guy) and interviews, I don't think I know him as a person at all. Perhaps you've had personal conversations with him and know him better or perhaps you judge people by their press pesona. Now I don't know or care about his politics or anything else that would be "personal" in nature. I care whether he can put a consistent playoff contender on the field year in and year out. The rest is just noise. There are very few people in the world that I've met that no one has anything bad to say about. I really don't care what could possibly come out about how Elias got to where he is at this point. He just needs to show me a winning team on the major league field.
  20. "Not mentioned by Elias as someone who showed up to camp hurt."
  21. Well, John Angelos did say something to the effect of once the attendance improves so will the payroll. He basically put it on the fans to show up before he will spend.
  22. Thanks, and you are probably right. I still think they are on the team unless they have awful springs, but with Elias, you never know. I'll move them down a level from making it for sure though.
  23. Deep breath!!! He's had a throwing session with Adley and he was not mentioned by Elias as someone who showed up to camp hurt. If you'd like to keep updated on all players, feel free to use the spring training tracker that I keep updated with major news.
  24. I sure hope not. I want my GM incentivized by how much he wins at the major league level, not how much money he makes ownership.
  25. Again, it appears that he does stay out of the baseball side of things which is a good thing. We agree here then.
