  1. Except that I never said we should trade them (Mullins or Hays). I said if we were going to trade one, I'd be more inclined to trade Mullins, because he had more trade value, and as I've said - I wouldn't trade Mullins unless we got a great offer for him, and I stand by that, because I want the O's to become much better.
  2. You're forgetting the power of the time clock. That's the only reason the prevent defense is used in the NFL. It completely destroys your comparison. And just look at last night's game against Philly - who was playing for their playoff lives. Hays knocking in the lead run and putting himself in scoring position was HUGE - regardless of the fact that the O's ended up losing.

With Lowther, I wonder how much he's been affect by both the new ball and the new restriction on the sticky stuff. My recollection is he had a great spin rate on his fastball in past years, and perhaps those 2 factors damaged him?
  4. Remember, O's fans besmirched Copernicus when he insisted the earth wasn't flat, and we know how that turned out.
  5. And fast. He's definitely got an uppercut thing going. (19) Heston Kjerstad on Twitter: "Finally back swinging the bat again! https://t.co/iWMJyonTNS" / Twitter Congrats to him for getting to this point, and I can't imagine what it must feel like for him to be able to swing like that again. Hopefully the O's are giving him good advice on how to proceed - and not do too much too soon. He's already got over 3,700 likes from his tweet yesterday.
  6. Gotcha. I should have said the same thing to him about not speculating. We're good.
  7. Lol, that's not exactly a retraction, and you just might have been overly defensive there. Peace.
  8. We don't even know if he got a vaccine. This kind of speculation about his situation really should be avoided, imo.
  9. I agree about your observations, except for the comments about an inheritance tax. The estate would pay the tax based on the value of the assets, and there is no inheritance tax that I'm aware of.
  10. Tbh, that one didn't look egregious. I've seen a lot worse this season.
  11. Granted it was close, but with all the technology they have available, it's amazing they got that call wrong. There's legit paranoia among O's fans for not getting calls. We're perfectly capable of losing without getting abused by awful ump calls.
  12. Watch out for the expiration dates on some of those items in the fridge. If they're green and shouldn't be, pass on them.
  13. At the same age, Nick hit 15 homers, 3 triples, and 41 doubles between Frederick and Bowie - pretty much the same kind of hitter he was - year after year - in Baltimore.
  14. 2 ex-O's, Palmeiro and Steve Finley were thought to be weak singles hitters until they weren't. Finley never hit more than 11 homers until age 31 and ended up with over 300 for his career - with 4 season of 30 or more. I expect the power will come for Cowser - a hitter's a hitter, and he's a hitter.
  15. That would go against the unwritten rule written about besmirching the hitting ability of position players like DJ Stewart... though actually Kevin Gausman recently won a game pinch-hitting - with a walk-off sac fly - pinch-hitting for a pitcher.
  16. I'm ok with a .982 OPS in his first 149 professional plate appearances. That's no so bad. It would be a great sign if they start him at Bowie next year.
  17. Imagine if Westburg ends up at 2nd base - he's listed at 6'3. The infield could be the biggest ever - Mountcastle, Westburg, Gunnar, and Mayo.
  18. Mullins is not the type to run away and Hyde.
  19. I think Mountcastle got his 30th homer in that game. I'd kinda like to see them tie for the O's HR crown for the year.
  20. Agreed - Coby is only a half year younger than Gunnar, and it could be GREAT for the O's if Gunnar can stay at SS.
  21. Not only has Mayo hit considerably better than Gunnar (.981 OPS vs career .800), he strikes out much less (18.5% of plate appearances vs 29.2 career) and walks more (13.4% vs 11.5). 216 plate appearances for Coby and 584 for Gunnar.
