  1. Severino blows the tag again! All he had to do was swipe right in front of the plate. Instead he reaches a foot down on Ohtani's leg. This is such a basic easy play to make!
  2. We're probably going to lose this game because we couldn't execute a simple bunt. Very discouraging.
  3. That bunt can't happen. Anyone who hits that poorly has to be able to bunt - or just don't let him bunt.
  4. Give the O's credit for making the right move - using Scott on Ohtani. It's a feel good moment with Watkins having a successful debut.
  5. Tate was throwing 98 with amazing movement, and he still stunk. That's frustrating.
  6. This is a good opportunity for Leyva. Please don't swing at balls - particularly curveballs in the dirt.
  7. Don't let Jim Palmer see that - he'll pitch a fit - so to speak.
  8. Gotta laugh at how far back Valaka was playing - I was afraid he was gonna run into Santander.
  9. Letting the batter go to second - he had trouble picking it up off the bounce.
  10. Are our pitchers purposely throwing right in the middle of the plate? What's going on???
  11. I think Santander catches that if his ankle wasn't bothering him. Awful play - either way.
  12. Lol that Akin got a double play on a high outside pitch. I guess the Angels were getting accustomed to him throwing the ball right down the middle of the plate. He's pitched very poorly tonight.
  13. Perfect throw by Hays! Severino... is so bad at applying tags.
  14. Akin's got no command. Even his SO was up and in when it was supposed to be outside.
  15. Mountcastle made all 3 defensive plays unasisted. It's definitely an advantage to have a long athletic 1st baseman.

    Drew Rom 2021

He looks physically like the lefty version of Blaine Knight - who I'd like to see get a look, but Knight just turned 25, while Rom is just 21 - so Rom could fill out some and maybe has some projectability with his fastball? Rom's putting together a really nice resume. His SO/W ratios have stuck out - and 53/9 this year is tremendous.
  17. He'll be on the team. The question is whether or not he starts.
  18. Hey, green font was a great idea! People also scoffed when Copernicus said the earth was flat.
  19. Good observations. And really, they need to drop Franco - regardless of his health, imo. I don't want Leyba at 2nd anyway, and I think playing him at 3rd is a fair solution for the time being. So even if Jones makes some errors, he may be helping the D just by moving Leyba to 3B. I realize that's just a rationalization for playing Jones, but we don't have much to lose by giving him a try and see if he rises to the opportunity.
  20. Well, it goes without saying that his injury problems make him someone we can't rely on, but it's also not fair to say flatly that his career is over.
  21. I wouldn't call them similar. Gallo is a monster RFer with tremendous HR power - though a bizarrely low doubles hitter and leads the league in walks. Mullins is a small speedy CFer who does it all this season.
