  1. I laughed. It's been a long time since I read it, so my recollections a bit hazy, but I remember it as being a kinda scary but more kinda cute "girl lost in the woods" story that took a while to build up.
  2. Nah, the girl was just a huge fan of Tom Gordon's.
  3. Interesting that they think a 5'9 guy like Frelick doesn't get dinged for his actual lack of power, but Watson did for his perceived lack of power.
  4. Jeter got a legit sure thing SS at 16. Watson's got ridiculous bat speed.
  5. I enjoy his son, Joe Hill's, stories. For the most part, they're even creepier than King's. It's nice to see the improvements he's made. His first book of short stories were fun but didn't show much character development. Now, his characters are more interesting.
  6. He's actually written a couple of stories that revolved around baseball - "The girl who loved Tom Gordon" and "Blockade Billy".
  7. That's a fair question, but did the scouts that rated him the best pure hitter in the draft really base that on his college slash line?
  8. Nope. I'm pretty sure there's a rule against it. Btw, if they moved Watson or Turner, it'd be to 2nd base.
  9. Washington would be foolish to pass on Watson - if they do it because they have a SS.
  10. Can you imagine being a KC fan now? Probably feels a lot like being an O's fan.
  11. And he's sitting next to Madden at the draft - they appear to be best friends. I like that comp to Zimmer. Zimmer looks a bit more muscular, but Madden might end up with more power. If we ignore the fact that we passed up 3 great SS's and Kumar, I think we'd be excited to have him as our 1st round pick - and excited to see what the result of going under-slot gets us. We got a really good prospect.
  12. If Elias is so smart, how is he so easy to predict? Even I got his pick right.
  13. It's kinda weird to see people saying they wanted to see Rocker dominate more - when his stats are clearly dominant. When push comes to shove, I'd probably pick him if I was running the O's. I still think they use the Cowser strategy and get O's fans angry.
  14. Too late. If anything, i think the Braves are more likely gonna be sellers now - after losing their superstar, Acuna for the year, after they had already lost Ozuna and Soroka for the year, d'Arnaud for most of the year, and not to mention Ynoa breaking his hand punching a bench after looking like a ROY candidate. Time for them to see what they have in Pache and Waters, imo.
  15. Thanks D. i particularly liked the analysis on Henry Davis and Carson Williams. I'm starting to get used to the possibility that they'll pick Davis - and couldn't blame them. Absolutely fascinating player. While it would be so odd to have probably the 2 best catching prospects in baseball, it could work and might make a lot of sense. It also might extend both of their careers.

    Kevin Smith 2021

His pitch count was high, and he didn't even make 4 innings. Still has an excellent SO/W ratio. Doesn't seem likely that he's going to eat enough innings to stay a starter. He's still got value - O's certainly need help in the bullpen.
  17. I would hope that the coaching at Baltimore would be at least as good as the coaching in Norfolk.
  18. Stowers just gotta cut down on the SO's to be a top prospect?
  19. I see what you mean. He's now hitting even better in Bowie than he did at Aberdeen. I didn't realize he had this kind of power. It's exciting to follow the kind of progress he's making this year.
  20. It's gonna be... Colton Cowser. My pick would have been either Watson or Rocker.
