  1. I have no single position that I am concerned about but strongly feel like we need one more "big bat". We need a consistent hitter that is feared by other pitchers that has proven to be someone that can be relied on when the rest of the offense gets streaky.
  2. Well, he hasn't really traded for any arms yet, nor has he really traded any bats away (at least not any of significance). I guess there are several views on how to build a team, especially when you cash strapped by ownership. I just feel like the team is on the cusp of a championship. You never know when that will happen again. We need one more reliable pitcher to take us over that edge, I believe. This is the time to spend and get him. Yes, you might lose some future IF that you are giving up six years of control for, but how much is a championship worth?
  3. I think the thing for me with taking a catcher is they have a shorter shelf life as a catcher than a SS. This is why I was in the Witt camp. I love Adley and think he is amazing, but inevitably, he will stop catching before Gunnar and Witt are playing the infield (barring a freak injury), then what is his value at 1B or DH?
  4. This forum is by far, the most informative of anything about the O's out there. Tony and the other admins, as well as the regular users are just fantastic with news and rumors. I only read Roch to find out what the "official" message that the front office wants put out there is.
  5. They won't weaken their efforts during the holiday week. They have done nothing to significantly improve this team and they will do their best to continue to do nothing during this week.
  6. I think what you see now is what you get. We aren't making any major moves. We might add some deep depth here or there, but this is the roster, basically.
  7. Another meeting move. Not bad, but probably the biggest one we make.
  8. I would disagree and say that's not true, YET. Based on the past, these are not reliable. Give them another season and they maybe true, but not yet.
  9. I agree with Billy here. There could be six months left in the offseason, but I still don't see any major transactions that move the needle much. We are rolling with our guys. We won't pay the market price for starting pitching and we won't trade the prospects that teams are requiring. What we have is basically what we are getting. I'm hoping that playoff experience is invaluable for this year's team and for growth from the prospects. We still have a good team, I just don't think we have a great team. We have no single bat that another team would fear and we don't have that stopper yet in the rotation.
  10. This is how starved we are for news. A rumor of one trade by two other teams and this thread starts blowing up. Well, now I'm contributing to it as well.
  11. So...how do you feel about our team, as currently constructed, with no more additions, cause that's basically how it's looking now. https://www.mlb.com/orioles/roster/40-man
  12. So...now how fast before the other domino's start falling?
  13. So...we haven't done anything right? Just as expected.
  14. I'm with him. Not suicidal, just realistic. Lowering my expectations
  15. So far, every offseason has been disappointing by Elias. I expect more of the same.
  16. I predict Wacha or Clevinger if they will agree to a one year deal with an option for the following season.
  17. It's interesting how slow MLB free agency is compared to other sports like the NFL and NBA. Once that window opens, the signings just start and go very quicly. Not so much in MLB.
  18. So.. is free agency open now or only to resign your own?
  19. We also could keep Mateo and McKenna if we trade players like Ortiz, Hays, Santander and/or Urias
  20. That's why you keep them. It gives you time to trade them or you have then for depth if you trade prospects for pitching.
