  1. Meh... I'm happy that they at least answered a 3-spot with their own 2 runs
  2. I don't think so. It has blocked me even on those types of weekends. In fact, it blocked me tonight before I turned on the Norton VPN.
  3. I have MLB TV. I usually get blacked out of all Yankees and Red Sox games up here in CT, all 38 of them. I've tried like 10 IP Blockers/VPNs, none of them have worked well. I figured out the my Norton 360 actually has a VPN feature. And I'm watching the game tonight on my laptop, no issues at all. Sheesh, about daggone time.
  4. Seems strange to me to be analyzing which .200ish hitter the O's should have chosen. Using this SSS maybe the O's should have selected Andrew Vaughn.
  5. It's so funny. My twins were born in 2000. Around 2009 my daughter said to me "Dad, why do you like the Orioles? They never win."
  6. I posted this elsewhere. Growing up as a kid in Edmondson Heights in the 70s, My dad introduced me to an O's team that was the most successful team of that era. I remember the 1979 through 1983 stretch where they were the "super F-ing" ball club. My dad had tickets to game 6 of the '83 World Series. I didn't get to go (for obvious reasons) but just figured that I would get my chance to go another WS in the years to come. Almost 40 years without playing in a World Series. That's so depressing when you frame it like that
  7. They'll scrap the automatic pitch calling device for an automatic pitch throwing device. Brilliant, and you won't have to pay salaries to risky pitchers.
  8. Fine... My guess is that they still won't be stumbling on top of each other. Maybe it will be an infield of Gunnar, Holliday and Westburg.
  9. I'm shocked that Kumar went #3. I was holding out slim hope he was available at 33
  10. I love this. It staggers the ML debuts for Westburg/Gunnar and Holliday by 3-4 years so they aren't stumbling all over each other on the depth chart.
  11. I remember Ben McDonald getting thrown right into the 1989 playoff chase. I though his arm was going to dissolve.
  12. Somehow I sense that after they make the pick, and Elias sits for his first interview, no matter what he is going to say "<player chosen> is the guy we wanted all along"
  13. Someone asked me why the draft happened in the middle of the season. The only reason I could think of iw that HS and College seasons are over at this point.
  14. I remember listening to those games on the radio with my mom in our Edmondson Heights dining room. Whenever I talked she would snap at me, "Dammit Thomas! Sit still and be quiet. You're going to jinx this"
  15. I'll bet if you ask Palmer, he'll say it still makes him sick too. Yount hit 2 HRs off him. Crazy box score too. Palmer, Tippy, Dennis Martinez, Flanagan. None of them escaped unscathed. EDIT: Palmer was freaking 15-4 going into that game.
  16. Don't forget '82, when the O's just missed out on the postseason because of a last day loss to an excellent Brewers team. (I was actually at that game with my dad in the LF bleachers)
  17. My dad had tickets to Game 6 of the 83 World Series. Obviously never got to go. As a 16 year old I just assumed the O's would be in the WS every few years.
