  1. he has multiple allegations against multiple people and the judge in this case specifically reminded everyone that this settlement should not be seen as an absolution of guilt from Bauer. When one person accuses you, you might have a case. but when another, and another, and another keeps coming out. And when his excuses start as it didn't happen - but then it becomes okay it did but it was consensual, and then becomes sure I hit her but didnt hit her that hard. [insert word that is banned here] NOPE, hard nope. Ya know what? I am sure that we can find a guy to do what Bauer could do that DOESN'T have multiple accusations of sexual battery following him around.
  2. FWIW its why I wouldnt want Aroldis Chapman or German on the team either. I personally have zero tolerance for this stuff. Wander Franco might be a free agent soon too.
  3. Bauer can pound sand. Just because they settled doesnt mean he isnt a massive piece of crap. He is also the guy that has Luke Scott levels of conspiratorial thinking and sliced his finger effing around with a drone right before Cleveland's playoff run. He is a known cheater with the sticky stuff and is pretty much the reason for increased crackdowns - he essentially admitted as such. He mas multiple allegations against him in Ohio and Arizona that haven't gone beyond restraining orders. He is not worth it.
  4. The bottom line is literally no party in this situation has ever threatened to move the team, in any way. Angelos, Maryland, hell even Manfred said that there was no way this wasn’t getting done.
  5. I don’t know John was in front of the camera a lot last night. Also, essentially, they have “an agreement in principle,” so to speak. but the final lease needs to be drawn up, approved, and signed.
  6. The playoffs are very much a crap shoot, short series and any team can suddenly get hot (see the Royals in 2014) and any team can suddenly get cold, The only ting you can control (as musch as any team can) is the regular season and that has been an undeniable success. Best record in the AL - literally could not have been better.
  7. no serious person really believed the Orioles were going to move. Angelos wanted it to happen, the state wanted it to happen, Manfred was on the record that the Orioles were going to stay in Baltimore. It just was not going to happen.
  8. Mateo becomes a role-player on the team and he seems to be fine with that. its Urias that I think gets traded in the offseason with Holliday kicking the door down in the minors. Urias has had an off year, but he should easily net us some pitching on the higher-end of the development spectrum.
  9. Cleveland always seems to give the Orioels headaches - no matter how good or bad they are. Ill take a split, if we win this series it would just be super.
  10. I'm not scared of any team, I also am not taking any team for granted. In the postseason anything can happen and all the previous records get thrown out the window. The Orioles have consistently been in every series they have played in this year and there is no sign of that changing. We are in control of the division, win that. In the playoffs a grounder with eyes can clinch a trophy just have to let the chips fall.
  11. My conspiracy theory is that Pete himself saw the game and in a addled and infirmed mind demanded he be fired but had to be talked down.
  12. Means coming up here and being a swing man/ mid-inning bullpen arm would be huge.
  13. Even if you know a 102 mph fastball is coming it is still very very difficult to hit that pitch. that is what makes a fire baller like Bautista so effective - but sometimes, it does get hit.
  14. 1) most school districts in the country aren’t run like MD. MD is weird because everything is on a county level, most places in the country a “school district,” is like 8-10 schools, singling out the largest school district ls is like saying “The 2021 Orioles has the best record in the MLB, of teams that play in MD” when compared to all districts the city is more to the median 2) that number seems high, but I would also remind you that average tuition for private schools is roughly the same MSJ for instance is over 19k a year, and that doesn’t include other programs and such.
  15. Even if you know it’s coming 102 is still hard to hit, but any MLB hitter can guess right and run into one. it happens.
  16. Don’t - say his name more and he appears. Like a frosted-tips Beetlejuice
  17. It’s just so damned stupid and infuriating.
  18. The most annoying this about all of this is that Drew Forrester has shown up in my feed today - twice. that is unacceptable.
  19. But the Orioles would have control over who works their games. it’s probably just swapping people around.
  20. This is what happens when you fight a stranger in the alps.
  21. Oh I am FIRMLY 4 on this one. I was just wondering if there really was any sort of “this is a major insult,” vibe that I was missing? but no, Olney is just harboring a grudge
  22. Buster Olney has been grinding this ace for the last 12 hours. The Orioles have not retired Mussina’s number and this is a grave offense to Olney. so how do we feel? options: 1) The Orioles should do it and the fact they haven’t is an insult (the Olney position) 2) The Orioles should do it but they haven’t and it’s their call so meh. 3) The Orioles shouldn’t do it because he didn’t go into the Hall as “an Oriole,” and the team has to draw the line somewhere. 4) I really don’t care 5) The Orioles shouldn’t do it because Mussina is a traitor and I still haven’t gotten over it.
  23. The Fuji inning was tough because he got squeezed real bad on both those walks, considering some of the other strike calls we saw today, and then still nearly got out of it. I can see why the Orioles see potential there.
  24. I'm still annoyed a little that the only time the orioles ever get on these big national games is when they play the Yankees.
