  1. If JA was there, we'd complain that he was an attention hog trying to steal the limelight. He's our human pinata.
  2. Crap! Meant to have Henderson at SS and Westburg at 3B!
  3. The only reason that I see for moving Basallo is Rutschman's presence as the everyday catcher and the lack of quality 1B depth in the system. As I've said elsewhere, I think Mayo fits best in RF with his arm and an already full slate of infielders capable of playing 3B (Henderson and Westburg, primarily). I don't think Kjerstad belongs in the infield. Just from a roster building standpoint, a lineup of Rutschman (C), Basallo (1B), Holliday (2B), Henderson (3B), Mayo (RF), Bradfield (CF), Cowser (LF), and Kjerstad (DH) would be a homegrown dream team. And, there is more talent on the farm.
  4. To be clear, I don't believe that Mountcastle should be on any "no-trade" list, like Holliday, Mayo and Basallo. In fact, I've said several times that I think that Basallo could be his ultimate replacement by 2025. And, I think Mayo fits best in RF with Kjerstad belonging nowhere near the infield grass. I just think that this board generally undervalues Mountcastle. His career OPS+ is 114. That's not average. It's 14% above league average. His Statcast numbers are outstanding with all of xwOBA (81 percentile), xBA (80), xSLG (89), Avg Exit Velo (83), Barrel% (79), Hard Hit% (70) and Sweet Spot% (66) all well above average. His Sprint Speed was 73 percentile, very high for a first baseman. Even his K% (43) and BB% (41) were close to middle of the pack. Contrary to public opinion, players with those numbers don't grow on trees.
  5. I gave up. Mountcastle haters gonna hate no matter what the facts are.
  6. If Elias wanted top X rated guys, he'd just sign Bauer.
  7. People here are always surprised that Mountcastle is worth more than they think he is.
  8. I’ve come to hate this thread.
  9. I just meant that I don’t care if she’s young enough to be my grand daughter!
  10. I had no idea who she was. You made me Google her. Young enough to be my grand daughter. And, I don't care.
  11. True, any GM will do what the owner tells him to do and if that's spend money, he'll spend money. And, with New York money, he could buy free agents and still hug is prospects.
  12. If we do outbid those teams, everyone here will bitch that we spent too much on him anyway.
  13. I said none but I’m really glad to hear that Mayo is going to get time in right field. I’ve been advocating that for some time. Mayo in right and Basallo at 1st as Mountcastle’s eventual replacement puts some big time power in the lineup.
  14. Don’t understand why people fail to see that Elias is totally onboard with this approach to talent development and roster building. This not just a JA thing.
  15. Outside of Ohtani, since signed by the Dodgers, I'm not sure that there was/is an available bat that I would want blocking our young position players.
  16. Ravens lease 15 years. Bisciotti Good. Orioles lease 30 years that might revert to 15 years. Angelos Evil. Only here.
  17. It’s a small world. But I wouldn’t want to paint it.
  18. If I’m giving up multiple top 100 prospects, I’d rather target younger pitchers with more control from the Marlins, Mariners or others .
  19. Why should Boston always dominate the insufferable fan base market?
  20. Oh my lord. I can't stop. I'm falling further and further into the rabbit hole. Someone please make this go away!
