Trying to optimize the value of a nine player lineup vs. one particular position. But, I can recognize there are lots of options for doing that, including trading any of those players if an opportunity to improve the team or system arise.

Keep in mind, it looks like Elias is no longer slow playing prospects. Basallo might move faster than we think now that he's at Bowie.

I just pray we don't sign another veteran leadership infielder. Adley and McCann are leaders. Cedric and Hays are leaders. Means is a leader. We don't need to waste a roster spot on a minimally productive infielder like Frazier or Odor at this point. A quality starting pitcher and high leverage bullpen arm should be the priorities.

I still want to see Mayo get max reps in a corner outfield, preferably right field. I think Basallo will ultimately be at 1B. Having 1B Basallo, 2B Holliday, SS Henderson, 3B Westburg, C Rutschman, RF Mayo, CF Bradfield , LF Cowser, and DH Kjerstad would be pretty awesome.

I hope Coby Mayo gets a ton of reps in RF at Sarasota and the first part of the season in Norfolk. His arm can be a real asset there. Kjerstad should have a real opportunity to make the big team out of spring training, even if he gets most of his at bats DH’ing.

I wouldn't "close the door" on Hall being a starter. He's got wicked stuff. But, I also am intrigued by his potential as a shutdown closer. I'd like to snag Snell or Montgomery in free agency as both are significant upgrades over the Lyles and Gibsons of the world. I'd also try to trade with the Marlins for Max Meyer. Having him and Seth Johnson as TJ reclamation projects would be interesting. And, I'd rather trade some of the veteran's approaching free agency for lower level prospects than trade away our own whenever possible. If we can get a Bradish for Bundy, we should be able to identify other prospects with tools that we can improve in trades for Santander, Mullins, Hays, and/or Urias.

I believe that CPO is absolutely correct in his description of the rule and how it is applied. But placing any blame for a horrible throw by Rodriguez on Mountcastle is off base, in my opinion. Grayson failed to clear the runner and make a good throw. It was as simple as that.
