Flaherty looks like he's suffered from a really bad Cardinals defense and an unsustainably high babip. He's a career average 3.50 ERA guy who may improve with the O's just like Gibson and Jordan Lyles did. Wells goes to the pen where he instantly improves the middle innings situation. So, on paper maybe we did get better?

Cardinals are 28th in Defensive Runs Saved. So maybe he gets better in Baltimore just having a good defense behind him?

I was just thinking that. The moment the failed Dodgers trade to get ERod was announced, they posted a statement that the price for Cease had gone up. No way they could know if that were true - pure speculation.
