  1. I voted yes but I am also expecting a refund for the WC games I just purchased.
  2. I think he gets a pass due to injuries. Perhaps he should get a pass. But, I also think that he has made enough poor decisions even with reduced options that he could be on the hot seat. Pitching Dominguez in a tie game and then going to Aiken for the save is an example of his poor decisions.
  3. I'm not familiar with him but I'll take your word for it.
  4. Gotcha, unless they start scoring runs... that might be true.
  5. I didn't say that. I have said that once you get in to the tournament, it's a craps shoot. Scott shortens the game and would likely/possible be the closer on this team. Bautista is back next year so the fact that he will be a FA is lessened I think. Just my opinion.
  6. I think they only carry 12 pitchers. It doesn't look like a lock that Westburg and GrayRod are back at least for the WC round. I like your list but I am guessing that Bowman will be the odd man out. Maybe Akin because I don't know if they carry 4 LHP? I think Rivera is a lock so that mean either Jimenez or Mayo goes and I am guessing it's Mayo. If Urias is back then it comes down to Rivera/Jimenez and I am going to guess that Jimenez stays.
  7. I had not seen that. Thanks for posting.
  8. Your not wrong about the Manny vibe. His body language and facial expressions are not the best. He looks a little like our youngest son and so he is my wife's favorite player and I can't criticize him in front of her, so I can do it here.
  9. I'd still rather have him this year. Unless Rogers and Soto improve drastically, they won't have any either.
  10. I agree. The funny thing (misleading) is that the surface stats of ERA and W/L have Suarez as the better pitcher.
  11. This one flew under the radar for me for a couple of days. I was stunned that they traded both for Soto. I really liked Johnson and he was so hyped when he came from Houston. I was thinking maybe he had not recovered well from TJ and they were "selling high." But that doesn't appear to me the case. I wonder if Chace, Johnson, Stowers, Norby gets you Tanner Scott instead? If so, I'd rather have him then both Rogers and Soto
  12. I don't understand why he started fielding everything one handed and on the run and then throwing on the run. He used to shuffle-shuffle-throw. But then he went to what I can run and gun. It's weird to me.
  13. I think you're right in that it will be anticlimactic but I think it is deserved. They did enough to qualify and maybe you could argue that with all the injuries, they've persevered and should celebrate. Once you get in, it is a craps shoot.
  14. The hitting coaches may be replaced but make no mistake. This approach they are implementing is 100% the approach that ME and SM want. Coaches rarely implement their own style anymore. So even if the coaches change, I wouldn’t expect the hitting approach to change much unless these coaches have failed miserably to implement the approach ME and SM want.
  15. It's time to start looking at the loss column vs. GB! You can't make up and loss. 2 behind NYY Only 3 up on KC and 4 on Minn
  16. I predict that he will be an MLB All-Star next year.
  17. As much as I would like to have all these guys back, we need to be patient until they are ready. They ain't ready.
  18. He is already better than most now. Can he pitch tonight?
  19. 1969 is the first recollection that I have. It's funny how that run has influenced my perception of the O's. I still think of them as that powerhouse team even when they are playing poorly. But to think that other than that their longest streak was 4 years is shocking to me. My three sons and I have very different fan experiences with the O's.
  20. Sorry! I didn't mean to hijack this thread.
  21. They had one at OPACY several years ago near the O's HOF plaques. That would be awesome if they brought it back.
  22. I've already mentioned my favorite beer is Smithwick's (pronounced Smid-ick's) It is a Red Ale that is smooth and creamy. It is not heavy or bitter like Guinness. It can be hard to find. It is how I tell the difference between a real Irish Pub and an Irish themed bar. If they serve Smithwick's thay are the real deal.
  23. I'm Irish-American so I can be a bit of a snob about it. I didn't connect the Chuck Thompson reference sorry. To be clear, Guinness is an Irish beer and not an English beer . Even though it is intended to be served cold, you are free to enjoy it anyway you like it. I actually like Smithwick's much better than Guinness. It is a Red Ale. Like Disney in the US, Guinness owns everything in Ireland including Harp, Kilkenny, and Smithwick's beers. They actually paid for the resoration of St. Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin.
