  1. Irvin is the unluckiest pitcher or he just isn't good enough to pitch out of things when they go wrong. He is not a starting pitcher though. If Means stays the full 30 days then that takes him to the 28th or 29th of April. So hopefully, he's health and back in the rotation the first week in May. I was surprised to see Bradish go out on a rehab so soon. Of course, we don't know yet when he'll actually start the 30 day clock, but he and Means could both be back as soon as mid to late May.
  2. I was thinking the same thing last night watching the game play out. I kept going back and forth between positive and negitive vibes. "this team is so good, they are not hitting nearly as well as they can but they still put up 7 runs" or, "they need to start hitting better because they are not going to get so many gifts every night"
  3. I can speak from experience. Believing that the Lord (or other, higher power) is with you can and does provide both peace and confidence. Therefore, helping one to perform in tense or pressure situations, like trying to get a hit.
  4. I am a big believer on Westburg as well. I hope he starts to settle into a routine and he gets on a roll offensively now that he is going to get most of his starts at a single position. He seems like a guy who thrives on a consistent routine.
  5. That is my recollection too!
  6. ODU had/has a fine program. He wasn't heavily recruited and is from the area. I don't have a source but I have heard him say that he went to ODU because Pat McMohan was the head coach there. McMahon went on to be head coach at Florida and Mississippi State. He then coached for the Yankees in their player development system. He is an ABCA Hall of Fame coach and one of the best pitching coaches in the world.
  7. Absolute video game numbers! 6 guys ops over 1,000 and the entire lineup over .800. I have never seen that even after 1 game. 29 hits and 7 walks.
  8. No, I joined the staff later. He comes back often though. Super good guy. He will spend 6-8 hours at our park talking to our current players and stays in our dugout most of the game. As a side note, when he was there Nolan Schanual was attached to his hip. He soaked in every little bit of info he could get. Hunter was a pretty good pitcher at MSU early on. That was a crazy play/throw.
  9. I can’t express how much I dislike the fact that they blocked the tower. Second only to the staggeringly stupid move by the Nats to block the view of the Capitol and Washington Monument.
  10. I think they win 98 and come in 2nd to the Jays.
  11. I am glad they are changing it and also glad to hear that it was in reference to the team being sold and not to his passing away. That would have been in really poor taste. No pun intended.
  12. And of course, ESPN has the NYY winning the East. It should just be called the YES/ESPN Network
  13. Just a brutal broadcast. Very disappointed. MLB hyped this thing so much and it was all over the At Bat App the last few days and then to be subjected to a brutal local broadcast is really, really lame.
  14. He threw 2IP scoreless last week. This is game 2
  15. Maybe, I think if it is close. The smart thing to do would be to roll the dice and try to get the extra year.
  16. Not trying to pile on but, I had to comment on this. It is 100% on the pitcher to get out of the way. I have never heard of a 3B looking for the pitcher before he makes a throw. At least not past the LL level or maybe a bad JV HS team.
  17. This is my thinking as well. Play him at third until you're convinced he can't do it. I would play Westburg at every position other than catcher for the remainder of ST to see if he can turn into a Ben Zobrist type player and get 400 - 450 Abs that way. Urias has to go in my opinion. Mayo may eventually become RMs replacement but I hope he sticks at 3B.
  18. I think it is possible that he is the best option at 2nd base and he still gets sent down to work on defense and vs LHP. If ME decides that it is in his and the teams best interest to do so. Either way, I'd expect him up relatively soon, unless he struggles at Norfolk.

    O’s Clips

It is in the highlights on the MLB At Bat app
  20. I finally got out there in the summer of 22. Beautiful ballpark and the Royals HOF is probably the best I've experienced. But, it is out in the middle of nowhere and I can see them wanting to put it downtown. These renderings look amazing.
  21. He is also not a nice person. I had a bad experience with him when I was the director of the Nats summer youth camps. I won't go into details but, let's just say he is not fan friendly even to a bunch of kids that he is getting paid to be nice to. I think he is the kind of guy to sit back and collect his $$$

    PNC Park

I've been to several games at PNC. Absolutely beautiful ball park. Outside of the normal Pittsburg stuff, Primanti Brothers etc... there are several good Irish pubs in the area if you like pubs. Also, Pittsburgh is one of the few places that some folks actually tailgate for a baseball game. I assume that the Saturday game is a night game? The views at night of the skyline across the river are stunning. There is a riverwalk inside the stadium that you should go on. You wouldn't know it was there unless you go beyond the right and centerfield areas.
  23. Short video of Rhys Hoskins talking about DL Hall after he K'd against him. Rhys Hoskins on DL Hall
  24. I am using the player follow feature on the At Bat app to follow Hall and Ortiz. I like the trade but I also liked both of those players and am sorry to see them go.
  25. I kind of hope that it is not renewed or that the holdup is the streaming rights issue. I think we have discussed in the past that I/we believe the contracts with the cable company's is why MASN can't offer stand alone streaming.
