  1. SG estimates the next 4 yrs @$45M thru age 29 yrs. Could you offer multiple "stages" for lack of a better word on top of the $45M? Say 2 yrs @$60 thru age 31 or 4 yrs @$110M thru age 33 or 6 yrs @$150M thru age 35. Give him opt out after 6 yrs total. So 6/$105M, 8/$145M, 10/195M, maybe a $5M signing bonus to round up.
  2. Was that the ALDS series with NY where McLouth hit the foul pole and the umps ruled it foul not a HR and we lost in extra innings and Buck brought in Jim Johnson in a tie game and he coughed up 5 runs in like 1/3 of an inning. Yeah, I think I agree with you but like last year nobody believed we were good and you don't get the benefit of the doubt.
  3. Wow that's like $100M/yr until 2033, if only MASN.....
  4. Agree with Ortiz getting regular ABs at SS and 2B, just question the inexperience at 3B but the Lefty matchup changes that somewhat.
  5. As would we all, not gonna happen as that would be deficit spending and PA's law firm ain't helping float the boat no more. That's what is intriguing about SEA ticket prices being that low. They aren't known as bottom spenders so what is their other revenue stream??
  6. OK but LA, NY, and BOS are the top 3 and I waffled on ATL (close) and missed on SEA (which I totally don't understand). The point stands, you pay more in LA, NY, BOS and JA will continue to pocket the profits regardless of fan expectations.
  7. Perhaps with the glove but probably different arm mechanics, strength, and clock vs SS. I really don't understand Hyde's logic here, Gunnar just starts heating up offensively and he gets the day off to play a Rookie with limited experience o the road, hostile ballpark, hated Division rival. I really don't believe the Sig-bot spit out that assignment. I have Hyde heartburn.
  8. Sorry, but surely you realize that the "full prices" you pay in BAL, pale in comparison to those in LA, NY, BOS and probably SEA and ATL as well. The fallacy is expecting JA to manage the Orioles like a "professional organization" you expect them to be and spend the money he prefers keeping to himself, on your team to your expectations. That will not happen.
  9. I officially hate you, lol. I grew up in Pasadena and when you said Elkridge, it hit a nerve. Every time I go back I hit Ann's Dari-Creme for a double dog. Good to know about the food truck and pit beef not far off Rt. 100, almost on the way. I used to go to Overlea for German sausages and pit beef sandwiches. Ah, Friday nite memories.
  10. I really tried to stay out of this discussion but I have failed. Frobby is correct, JA did say “[Elias & co. are] going to do what they can within the system that they’re in,” Angelos said. “Does that mean extensions? Absolutely, I would hope so. But you gotta go with the system you’re in.” However JA also said "we should be measured by how much we drive all of our profits back into the product on the field. And I think Mike Elias, Brandon Hyde, and this partnership group of all local people have done that." That is AFTER 2 seasons where he pocketed $150M and ME said "lift of" and then didn't. Salaries slightly above last year's rock bottom so I guess we do know what system JA has ME operating in. He also promised to open the books, twice and then said "I don't know many companies that do that, that look at how the sausage is made." JA's words are meaningless and his actions speak volumes.
  11. ERod as a rental is likely the cheapest as he is sure to exercise his opt out ($3/49M left). DET might get to QO him but I'm not sure as he already has been QOed by BOS. What is the prospect value for a QO to DET?
  12. Both Baumann (5/12, 1BB) and Baker (10/24, 2BB), 2/3 of an inning each, are currently walking too many guys and throwing too may pitches to be in a close game. You have Voth and Irvin to go multi innings but Hyde goes to1 inning guys again. After Wells, either Voth or Irvin should have gone for bulk innings. Why Voth for 0.1 and Coulombe for 1.1? Makes no sense.
  13. Sorta agree because I like Urias, but which Mateo is he really and what does moving him bring other than a roster spot? If Mateo settles as a .750 OPS guy with GG caliber defense then he is the bridge to Holiday ME wants. IF he is last years version going forward you can probably just go with Ortiz. It seems ME wants Westburg as the super Util & COF guy so Urias would be trade bait. If Frazier goes then Ortiz and Westburg can split 2B and fill in at SS and 3B and DH some but ME has to do that because Hyde will NOT bench Frazier. What about Urias to MIA for injured Trevor Rogers (forearm strain)? He seems to be their version of DL Hall. They already brought up Perez and Cabrera with Alcantara and Luzardo.
  14. For those who don't believe Hyde makes the lineup, do you REALLY think the Sig-bot would put Vavra in RF and Tony at 1B. Why not MAteo in CF, Hays in RF and Mullins in LF if you don't want to use McKenna? At least Mateo had some prior MLB experience there, as opposed to these 2 moves.
  15. But you never, really "honestly never thought of it looking like a penis/testicles and I really don' t think it does.", yeah OK then lol.
  16. At one of the old Hangout nights in LF, upper deck, Cindy determined that Brady was in the broadcast booth. She set off on a mission to get in there. I don't think I ever saw her again in person after that. Hmmmmm
  17. Well with 960 posts in 18 years, I have never won a day lol. There is a Warnings points category on top, left side, is that for downvotes? Otherwise all I see is Rank, Badges, and Reputation on the top right.
  18. Serious question, how would you find that out? Is it on your profile somewhere?
  19. I'm not sure why you say this, the option was used when Irvin was sent down. We can then move him up and down a total of 5 times in the season and it's still just 1 option used total. Or did I completely misunderstand what you meant? Heading to coffee machine now. lol
