  1. Jokes aside, I am not worried about Cowser. He has a really strong idea of the strike zone, he doesn't swing a lot on balls out of the zone. I don't really remember the definition of what a "barrel" is, but he's drilled some balls hard right at defenders. He'll be fine.
  2. If only we could have Ohtani and his 53 barrels.
  3. He wasn't terrible after he was traded. I always thought that was the funny thing about it...it was lopsided, but not in a Glenn Davis type of way.
  4. Not totally a fair comparison as free agency didn't exist back then. But I won't continue to pick nits like @Can_of_corn
  5. I'm inclined to agree, however the season isn't over yet. And we're not watching the same team if you think that there isn't room for improvement. Two months ago I would have said that the rotation should be the main focus but as it stands today, it's obvious that the bullpen needs a major boost. I'm not sure if Elias can swing a trade for a good bullpen piece or two but if he doesn't I'll be slightly disappointed.
  6. Imagine thinking that Bemboom can help in a pinch, other than filling in for a backup catcher spot if Adley were to go down.
  7. Should re-name the thread the Darwinzon Hernandez Appreciation Thread.
  8. Getting Trout back should be a shot in the arm for them. Rendon, despite still somehow being a well-known name, is kind of a joke. But even if they do end up getting to the playoffs, the question then becomes if that's enough to keep Ohtani interested in staying in Anaheim? I think he's gone no matter what, unless somehow the Angels get to the World Series.
  9. Trout isn't going anywhere. Unless he demands a trade.
  10. Back on track today with a 9/9 and a 60 rarity score.
  11. Overall, I was impressed with him yesterday. Gave up some runs early, yet remained pitch efficient and retired 8 or 9 straight until the dinger that finished him off. McDonald talked about it and I agree, it's important for a guy like that who doesn't necessarily have his best stuff to figure out what's working and to be able to battle it out.
  12. Yeah. And they've gone on a bit of a tear recently, it'd be hard to trade him after the little streak they've been on but I don't believe anyone thinks that they're a playoff team. Would love to be wrong, though. Ohtani in the playoffs would be must-see TV.
  13. Wait till the off-season for posters -who know better- to make wild speculations about what the notoriously tightwad Angelos family should offer Ohtani when he hits free agency. Maybe he’ll be spotted at a Ravens game or something. I can’t wait.
  14. The Angels are stupid. But, whatever.
