I agree Adley should have been back there today for his first start. I get it, sort of a day game after a night game, but not really, just 3 hours away from being another night game. But pitchers don't always get to throw to the first string catcher and don't always get the A lineup. Situations aren't always optimal. I mean, it's obvious that Hall has command issues and starting at the Trop (really, climate controlled and a not a hostile environment, it's pretty low key) against McClanahan and having Chirinos back there doesn't change that fact.

Raw talent wise, I think he's as good as anyone in the rotation. But as far as being able to go out and pitch well right now, you might be right. We'll see. I hope he gets some good time with Holt (he's a wizard!) and can iron some things out. I think he gets another start or two and if the results are like today, he's gonna go back down.

I don't think they had a guy like McClanahan out there yesterday though. Good news is that he hasn't been really sharp. Maybe if we can get into their bullpen next inning we've got a shot.

Well, I'm not ready to make proclamations about his chances moving forward based off what we've seen today. He definitely needs some work but you can see how if he refines a few things he can be a good pitcher.
