  1. Out Of the Park Baseball is pretty good.
  2. Yeah, the only way this has credibility is if Mullins and Mountcastle told Palmer this. Mountcastle has always been a hacktivist. That's just who he is, that hasn't changed.
  3. I basically think we can take 2/3 from any team that's not really great in any given series. I know Boston sucks now, but I think they can thump any given time. I think we'll be lucky to take 1 game in any series against the Astros, Yankees, Blue Jays, or Rays. I'd be thrilled to win 83 games. And maybe more importantly, not finish in last place.
  4. This is true. I'd love to be wrong for Lopez's sake and see him go on to a lengthy career with more All-Star appearances but I just get the feeling this is a strike while the iron is hot deal. If Lopez is still closing games at a high level in 3 or 4 years from now, I will be surprised.
  5. I think SG lives rent-free inside your head. You seem to spend a lot of time obsessing over what he thinks or what he says. Man, I'd never type a post like that about anyone here, not even in the JTrea heyday. This is a little weird, not gonna lie.
  6. Big difference between Zac and Brent. That’s not a typo.
  7. Okay the Brent Lowther thing is one of the funnier things that’s happened on here in awhile. Hey @Sports Guy! Is he a lefty or a righty? How come you don’t have any scouting reports on this guy?
  8. Hey, sorry to interrupt while SG and the big angry guy from NJ do their thing. Just wanted to say I don’t think Elias flew to Texas Roadhouse meet with everyone post deadline if he has any intentions of cutting Odor. Back to your regularly scheduled showdown between SG and RZNJ!
  9. Yeah, I tried to keep it as conservative as possible. I don't think we can win a series against the Jays or Yankees though. We don't match up well with either.
  10. Now I typically am against this type of stuff because it's absurd. But I'm also bored. So here we go. Aug 5th-7th vs. Pirates = 2 wins Aug 8th - 10th vs. Blue Jays = 1 win Aug 11th vs. BoSox = 1 win Aug 12th - 14th vs. Rays = 2 wins Aug 15th - 17th vs. Blue Jays = 1 win Aug 18th vs. Cubs = 1 win Aug 19th -21st vs. BoSox = 2 wins Aug 23rd - 25th vs. ChiSox = 2 wins Aug 26th - 28th vs. Astros = 1 win Aug 30th - Sept 1 vs. Guardians = 2 wins Sept 2nd - Sept 4th vs. A's = 2 wins Sept 5th - Sept 7th vs. Blue Jays = 1 win Sept 9th - Sept 11th vs. BoSox = 1 win Sept 13th - 14th vs. Nats = 2 wins Sept 16th - 18th vs. Blue Jays = 1 win Sept 19th - 21st vs. Tigers = 2 wins Sept 22nd - 25th vs. Astros = 1 win Sept 26th - 29th vs. BoSox = 2 wins Sept 30th - Oct 2nd vs. Yankees = 1 win Oct 3rd - Oct 5th vs. Blue Jays = 1 win That's a total of 29 wins and 83 on the season. Wild card spot? Probably not. But if anyone told you back in March that we'd win 83 games this year, I think you'd probably want a hit of whatever they were smoking.
  11. I'm not saying I'm someone who could be considered a great announcer candidate but I really don't get how hard this could be. Seriously, you just watch the outfielders and how they're reacting to the ball. If you can't tell when an outfielder has it measured and it's staying in the park compared to an outfielder hustling back and then peeling off because it's way over the fence, you don't deserve to be a broadcaster.
  12. I'm as excited as anyone else with the first impressions, however I want to see how he handles adjustments to him and a slump at the ML level. Good news is that the plate discipline and overall hitting approach is what it is; it's not going to change. He should always be a selective hitter and that'll still bode well for when he's not hitting well. He should still walk at a good clip. I've said it before, I'll say it again, I don't care about power. And quite frankly, I don't care if Vavra is a slap hitter who'll take fastballs inside to the opposite field. If he can shoot the gap or keep it down the line, that's a lot of doubles. Jeter hit to the opposite field. Gwynn hit to the opposite field. I'm not saying Vavra is on their level, but there have been a lot of successful guys that have made a career going the other way. IMO, way too much importance has been placed on pulling the ball. Let the ball travel more, you've got more time to react since you're seeing it longer. Won't get jammed as much if you're not afraid to go the other way. I'm really encouraged by what I see from Rutschman's plate discipline and now Vavra's. I'm hoping to see more guys come through like Henderson and Cowser and hope they're just as good at being patient at the plate and not swinging at junk.
  13. Glad to see you or the OH isn't going anywhere anytime soon!
  14. You're the one telling on yourself here.
  15. I think I like her better than Garceau. That’s a low bar to hurdle but she actually brings a bit of enthusiasm to the table. Garceau sounds like he’s broadcasting at a morgue. I’m not saying she’s great, far from it. I just slightly prefer her to Garceau.
  16. Brett Phillips really does look like the worst hitter on a little league team.
  17. Mateo with the buttery smooth backhand. Awesome.
