  1. Oh my God another trade thread about the Ms and Santander. Trade them and see what happens. I think Mancini and Santander get spare parts. Mullins might bring back value if he looks like the player he was last year. Can’t wait for the next thread about trading these guys in a few weeks.
  2. I can’t stand it either. I think like most things, it started off with good intentions and it was fun in the late 90s when it started. But now it’s awful. I have no interest in watching us play the Reds, Pirates, Brewers, Cubs, Mets…if they’re going this route, I agree to just have it like the NBA. An eastern conference and a western conference and the top select few teams make it. With this bull**** they just did away with the need for American and National leagues.
  3. This sounds terrible. We gotta play random teams like the Reds each year?
  4. Yes. And I’m not being sarcastic. I hate it. I think the nba jerseys with the company logos are terrible. The swoosh is bad enough. The new era logo on the side of the hats is bad enough.
  5. Any news?!?!?!?!?!? Any WOW offers???????
  6. I could see it happening and he implodes. Would fit in with the Dwight Evans, Vlad Guerrero, Sammy Sosa all-stars.
  7. I agree. Which means it could happen.
  8. I want to keep liking Freddie Freeman.
  9. Well I mean, you could always ask someone on the board to do it for you. That's a move that I've always enjoyed. "Someone refresh my memory..."
  10. So now we can get back to griping about when prospects should be called up and overrating our guys in making up fake trades that probably won't happen. I've never been so excited for a 65 win team. Let's go O's!
  11. I can't help it if CoC makes himself an easy target while beating a dead horse.
  12. Shouldn't you be doing research to see if the new CBA allows for roster manipulation so you can keep whining about it? If not, we might only need a backup for AR15 on opening day.
  13. Glad they got it figured out. Hopefully not a lot of damage has been done.
  14. Ooooooo boy, we could have a season!!!! Let's see if anyone screws this up!
  15. Or society. Outside of all the wars we participated in the 20th century, you could argue that Jackie breaking the color barrier is one of the top 5 most important things to happen in American history over the course of the century.
  16. What day and age is that? The day and age where money is valued over everything?
  17. I don't understand the holdup on the international draft. I agree in part that the players being considered to be drafted are not part of the union so...whatever. I also don't know if I agree on an international draft to begin with. Speaking as a fan who's team ignored the international markets for decades, either you're in the market or you're not. I don't always believe legislation and rules are the answer to everything but again, whatever.
  18. Come on. First, no one anywhere has Said anything about making ends meet. That’s an exaggeration and misrepresentation. Second, it’s not like anyone is rooting for the players to an extent to where they’re happy about missing games and think this is a good thing.
  19. Deadlocked. Hope you guys are ready for another bull**** 81 game season or whatever. Or maybe no season at all. Any of you armchair negotiation geniuses see an easy way out here? Think one side is all of a sudden going to come to their senses and cave on this one?
  20. You say he blew it, I would say he had a lot of fun. His wife is a broadcaster at ESPN, I'm sure they're doing fine.
  21. I mean, once again...comparing MLB (or most professional athletes) and their payscales to the average Joe isn't really an honest comparison. And no one said he's getting screwed, either. I don't believe anyone has made that argument anywhere.
  22. That's good info. I think the other day I was looking at something that was outdated, something like you needed 5 years of service time. But maybe I was looking at the wrong info.
  23. This is what it's about, I agree. It's easy to look at the high paid guys and say they're spoiled brats and whiners, but I think the high paid guys would be the first to tell you that it's not always about them. Now...Tyler Wilson still made good money. Not a crazy amount, but 1.022 isn't pocket change. And he's only 32 years old, plus he pitched in the KBO where he made 800k and then 1.5 million, then 1.6 million. That's not generational wealth, but I think practically anyone would like to be 32 years old. If he did it right, saved and invested properly, he won't have to work really hard for the rest of his life. Set aside the KBO stuff, 1.022 million is still a decent chunk but it doesn't allow him to retire young. In regards to the pension, I am not sure if he had enough service time to earn it. I'm rambling, whatever. The point is that for every Scherzer, there's dozens of guys like this who don't even come within sniffing distance of that amount of money.
