He's also competing against a larger pool of talent than years past as the game has developed internationally. But you already knew that.

He didn't start last season. The season prior to that he only made five starts.

The Brewers and Diamondbacks played last night. Not sure if McCain stayed up to watch, but if he did, he would have seen Davies, Drake, and McFarland combine for 6.2 IP, 10 runs (8 earned).
Drake's ERA is now over 5.

He twisted his ankle covering first on the second batter of the game. Two walks, 10 k's, 98 pitches.
