I think another team would have no issue with him at 1B, it just seems between Mounty and O'Hearn there isn't time for him there with the O's.

I agree, if Kjerstad was a good defender I think they would keep him and think about a full-time gig next year. They just seem like they don't want to play him in the field.

It would be a while before he gets in the rotation if the plan is to put him there. He's pitched 10 innings all year for MIL/ARI and all out of the pen. They didn't stretch him out to start, maybe due to the stuff, or all of the injuries he's had.

My whole point of contention with the metric is that you could theoretically be 1st in the league in Stuff+ and Last in the league in BB%, which is why I don't put much strength into it as a metric. Many of the teams that are among the lowest in BB% are not on the list so I was just curious as to how it gave context. It was more an indictment of Stuff+, which is fun, than your post about the O's.

Oh, they literally claim that a limitation to it is that command has nothing to do with how they rank it. Two of the top 10 teams according to Stuff+ are 3rd and 4th worst in team walks in all of baseball. Edit for the apparently easily confused. If you can be among the best in the league with Stuff+ and be among the worst in the league in BB%, I don't think it adds real context.

Sure but in the top 10 are TB, HOU, CWS, TOR who are all near the bottom of the league in pitching. It's a fun metric that I put no weight in.

They could (and should) easily trade Bichette. They would get a great return for him as everyone wants a SS and despite his slow start, the kid can really hit.
