  1. This. It gives them the entire season to get the new owners acclimated and at the earliest, the trade deadline if necessary to supplement the pitching. They had to add a starter and 1 year is plenty, they have the entire season/offseason to figure out 2025.
  2. Rumors circulating he's waiting at the airport in MIL for his Feb 12th flight to Sarasota. Bags packed, staring at his iPad.
  3. He's getting 30M a year. Just not for 9 years. The Yankees offered him 30M a year for 5 year I think?
  4. 30M dollars a year for Snell would be a terrible idea. I'd much rather they go in on Montgomery.
  5. I'm not arguing that. I'm arguing that people using terms that would be used after a conviction to label him is not a good thing to do. They arrested him for suspicion of felony assault. If I were to say I don't want Urias on the team because he's a felon, well, that would be wrong and unfair to say.
  6. I think we were all pretty big on Hall this year. Sometimes you have to make tough choices and if they think they can get 60+ innings out of Irvin or someone else in the pen then I get it. I do hope they add another relief pitcher as well.
  7. I hope Ortiz goes on to rake and play great SS. Will be a nice slap in the face for the more than deserving Sox fan trolls on that board.
  8. Damn right, this was an excellent trade on paper. I hope it plays out the same. He's a dude, for real.
  9. I love this deal. Burnes has no more red flags than Cease does and it doesn't cost Mayo.
  10. I don't think you realize there is a difference between being arrested for something and being convicted of something. I know 3 college kids who were arrested for gang-raping a girl. If one of them didn't record the incident, where the girl was clearly consenting, their entire lives would have changed at 19 and 20 years old. Sounds like you'd have thrown away the key.
  11. In what I do for a living I'm very glad to see bad people get what they deserve. I've, unfortunately, seen many people get what they didn't deserve. You don't have to worry about whom I surround myself with, we're extremely unpopular to most people, despite risking our lives every day to try and protect those in our cities. What we do know about this case currently is there are no formal charges filed, so there is no victim. They have a cellphone video that allegedly shows an altercation that was submitted by a witness. The DA has dropped the felony charges. I know most people read something and go, wow that person is a monster! They don't know the facts, they just read it and react. I don't do that. Facts are what interest me, it's hard to get a conviction without them and personal feelings aren't enough.
  12. Thank the good Lord that you have no power to convict someone. I saw a video! Cool story.
  13. Also having gone on more of these calls than I could ever remember, yes, you must arrest the accused on suspicion to get them out of the house. I also know that the overwhelming majority, in my experience, are not convicted. I try not to label anyone until they are. Arrested on suspicion does not mean guilty.
  14. I prefer to wait for people to be convicted before I label them.
  15. They are reporting that MASN is in the deal. in 2022 Forbes estimated the O's value at 1.71B and that was without MASN.
  16. The Athletic did a piece today with "Industry analysts and MLB insiders" whatever that means, but the consensus seems to be that they sold "low" at 1.725B.
  17. There is so much wrong with this post. The team that got hot won the World Series, you know, pretty much like every other year. Getting into the tournament is what is important, then the dice get rolled.
  18. Still don't understand the people advocating for Snell. Dude is going to get ~30M a year at 31 years old and has averaged 124 IP per year. I'd be cooking in a durability bonus that kicks in if he pitches 170 innings, which he's done twice in his career.
  19. Sure, spend what you can afford to spend, I'm on board with that. Blank checks are usually a bad idea.
