  1. The pressure was clearly getting to Cowser, that doesn't really need to be said either. His own manager, who I'm going to assume has more of a pulse on what exactly is going on with Cowser thinks that's the case, so I'm going to defer to him over anyone on this board. This team has pushed the right button pretty much all year.
  2. It would have been interesting, but he did infer that the pressure to perform because the team is winning disappeared and allowed him to relax and work on things that he could have likely worked on up here, but it would have likely reflected negatively on the record of the team. These kids are 23 years old and on the team with the best record in the AL. I think the pressure to perform right out of the gate is sometimes easy to get into people's heads and makes them press. Look, this team arrived early, I think there was every intention this year to play decent, competitive baseball, and let the young guys take all the lumps, but they just kept winning and that luxury went away.
  3. Something Grayson said in his post game last night stood out to me. He said he was glad to go back to AAA where you can actually just work on things and not worry about winning the games, the MiL are for development and he was glad to go down there and just be able to find himself. I suspect Cowser will get his mojo back, without the pressure to impress and be a better player for it, probably even this season.
  4. Sometimes he looks like he's trying to throw a dart when he's finishing his pitches.
  5. ARod would have surely been the better option at SS all around for the Yankees. Putting him at 3B made them a worse team up the middle. He played so much time at 3B that I don't really consider him a SS in NY. I agree, the comparison of he and Jeter isn't close at all, but it's still crazy to me how much WAR Jeter accrued while being an absolute abomination with the glove.
  6. His fastball command was bad tonight, that's what happened.
  7. I still don't understand how people think it's better for Cowser to play twice a week up here instead of every day in AAA. They sent Grayson down to reset himself, and it worked. Cowser needs a reset and no pressure right now. Hyde is absolutely right in saying he's in between right now. I get it, Hicks is an easy target to blast but he had almost 1/3rd of Cowser's season total hits in 1 game tonight. Calling people foolish and stupid for not seeing this as a serious mistake in the development of Cowser by not letting him flail away at the plate and make mental errors in the field, in the middle of trying to win the division, is well, foolish and stupid. I've said it a ton, if you aren't going to play him every day, send him down. If you are going to play him every day, then don't complain about the record if it trends down. I know, I know, they are winning with him up here, but he isn't really playing so he's not really helping them win. He'll figure it out and be a good player but they'd be doing him a disservice by keeping him up on the ML club just to play a couple of times a week.
  8. He broke the wall, I loved that pitch.
  9. Same, I just hope they keep doing what they've been doing for the next three days. They have an insane amount of talent on that team.
  10. Not going to be a popular opinion but this was the right move. If Cowser isn't going to play every day up here he should be playing every day in AAA.
  11. They are 3rd in the league in DRS. We are better at SS, LF, and P, they are better everywhere else in DRS.

    Fenway parking

It's a great spot, be advised it's about 30 mins or so on the tram to get to Fenway so plan for that travel time.
  13. It seems they added a bunch from the current '23 draft class and that likely bumped him.
  14. I'd prefer they get hot 4 days from now.
  15. It looks like he aims the ball to me. Maybe I'm seeing things, but it really looks like he's aiming and not just throwing.

    Fenway parking

When I go to Fenway I park at the Riverside Station just off the Mass Pike. I hop on the Green Line which stops at Fenway. It's also about 40 dollars cheaper than parking in lots near the stadium and it's an outside lot with a ton of spots. For GPS purposes 333 Grove Street, Newton, MA.
  17. I'll go against the grain and say I don't believe Fuji has a confidence issue. I don't feel like he looks scared or even anxious on the mound. His issue is he can't throw strikes consistently and looks frustrated more than anything. He just can't throw strikes.
  18. I've since self-moderated, thanks for your suggestion.
  19. Truly crazy catch. When he shielded his eyes, it looked like he lost the ball, I literally have no idea how he came up with that catch. As Buck would say, I'm glad he's ours.
  20. It's all Kevin Brown's fault for watching Oppenheimer. We all know he can't help himself with quotes he hears in movies.
  21. I could have sworn Norby was on top 100 lists, but I see the new list he's gone. Kjerstad is up to 28 on the updated list, though.
  22. I'm not the one outraged for someone else. I'm Middle Eastern and when people are trying to stand up for me for what they feel are injustices, I'm more offended by that than what they feel I should be offended by. I don't need it and I don't want it. If you are Japanese and offended, I get it, if you are offended on behalf of Fuji, you're a crazy person.
  23. They haven't been playing well but they are full of talent.
  24. What a series of highs and lows the past two games. We came out west and punched the hottest team in the league right in the mouth. Keep it rolling in SD.
