  1. Almost all of those billionaires care more about making money- that's why they're billionaires. And you'll watch, those ownership groups in SD and NY will act much differently as the financial losses mount up. In fact, we're already seeing that play out.
  2. Peter was a terrible owner. John has been ok as an acting boss. He's annoying, and he would do well to stfu, but he's done EXACTLY what we all called for for decades: Hire a competent baseball man and gtfo of the way. And it has worked out wonderfully for us. The biggest problem with him is he is cash poor. I guess what I'm saying is it really is possible to get a worse ownership group than what we currently have. The next time the owner loses continence, which with this guy could be very soon, we have no idea what we would get.
  3. I'm sure this is much more about making money for him than it is about his abiding interest in the career of Adley Rutschman.
  4. The guy's 75 years old. Kind of dooms the team to be going through this same process in another 10 years.
  5. No, no team is solely built on trades. Indisputably though, they got their number 1 starter through a trade and all they gave up was the broken down corpse of Dylan Bundy.
  6. Kyle Bradish wants to know how closely you follow the team.
  7. Not for long. None of our starting outfielders is under team control beyond 2025.
  8. Irvin and Webb are, for sure.
  9. They won't add anybody this offseason of enough consequence to bury any of the top guys listed above, but they'll still be adding guys. I wouldn't be surprised if they made trades in Spring Training. They've done that in the bullpen for the last two springs. They scout ST and target guys.
  10. I did that the other day in one of your proposed trades and you gave me crap about not taking the better prospects. LOL. I think you pose these hypotheticals to bolster whatever point you want to make, regardless of consistent principles.
  11. You don't think Ortiz is our sixth best prospect?
  12. Ortiz. Not a difficult question. He's the sixth guy. Everybody else is a lesser prospect and thus less valuable.
  13. I fear we're getting ahead of ourselves.
  14. Yeah, they're the motherf-ing Yankees. They're not just going to fall apart. However, we're talking about optimization.
  15. I'd like this to be official before I started counting my chickens so to speak.
  16. He'd start the season as closer for sure. Let's hope he doesn't force their hand, but they will make a change if it's in the best interest of the club.
  17. Sheeeeeeeeit. Then they're delusional. That's a fine opening offer.
  18. Eh. The benched this dude for showing up late last season. They wanted him out of the clubhouse. The rarity of the trade between these two teams should show the motivation of the seller. Hays has no such baggage.
  19. That would make the Davis contract look prudent.
  20. Your dedication far outstrips the majority of the board.
  21. I feel like the thread title is a bit of a troll. I look forward to the dispassionate and temperate remarks to follow.
