  1. It doesn't get said often enough, but I just love the effort you put into the recaps, both at the Orioles level and especially at the minors level. So much good information and highlights. Reason 413 as to why I love the Hangout, but a very important reason. Thank you, again.
  2. I know that you have made your peace with this decision, and you are not bothered by this. I am. You deserve better.
  3. RZNJ, this is good stuff. Why I love Orioles Hangout
  4. I am sure that I have violated 22 express rule violations and 37 Orioles Hangout unwritten rules in making my first post, but Tony’s extensive work on providing insightful, can’t find it anywhere else info on Orioles prospects is invaluable , and most appreciated. Promise no more thread opening posts from me, until the earliest of (1) an Orioles WS win, (2) completion of deferred payments on the Chris Davis contract, or (3) consummation of a Sports Guy three- team trade (just kidding, SG). Happy Thanksgiving to everyone on this wonderful site.
  5. From the department of I waiver on whether I understand DFA's and waivers, it appears that both players remain in the organization. Is that understanding correct?
  6. For what is worth, I really appreciate the effort that goes into these recaps.
  7. 1970 World Series. 1970 World Series. 1970 World Series. The only way Brooks could surpass that transcendent performance was to be by all accounts I have read to be nothing less that one of the kindest, classiest, most decent human beings. Had my picture taken with Frank and Brooks in 1966. One of my most cherished memories. My heart aches tonight.
  8. My cardiologist suggested one of two remedial measures today. A. Strong start from Mr. Means. B. Avoid fried foods. I am on my fourth helping of fries. Thank you, John.
  9. Good research. When the HBP occurred , I helped my triplets expand their vocabulary of words starting between 'e' and 'g' by one. Let's not discuss vocabulary enhancement occurring in innings 8 and 9.
  10. I like Fujinami. I really do. Loved the video of the Mr. Baumann interview in the bullpen, in August I believe, where Fuji is fanning water on him. But if I watch another inning of him in any type of leverage situation, my three-year supply of bourbon on hand will be reduced by 35 months.
  11. What a great development. Continue to wish David and his family nothing but the best in his continuing recovery.
  12. Understand his flaws, which have been well and empirically documented. But damn, that was some series. and my UPS driver, who is the gold standard, was his high school teammate. Swears by him as a dude, which is good enough for a cranky old geezer like me,
  13. From the department of irrelevant information, it appears that that the Song is over for Noah with the Phillies - looks like he was DFA'd. Thought he would have been an interesting pick. Back to our regular programming.
  14. This qualifies as entirely small-minded. My former boss is a huge, huge Twins fan. Five weeks ago, he DFA’d me, for reasons I did not agree with. The results of this weekend were agreeable to me. Back to our regular programming. Did not mean to go off topic. What a great weekend
  15. Yikes, what a meltdown by the Tides bullpen in the 9th.
  16. Made a gofundme contribution to David Wednesday. Lost my job Friday. Don’t regret Wednesday one iota
  17. What sad news, and how old it makes me feel. That August of 1985 will always stick in my mind. God rest his soul, and peace to his family and to his friends, through this difficult time. I am very sad tonight.
  18. Oh thy Yankees, despised of mind and spirit.. Your indenture of servitude foisted upon Franchy Cordero hath done been avenged. * *Olde English for, without Baseball Reference, I had no idea what either of these players had done the previous 12 months.
  19. Keep waiting for the clock to strike midnight, and keep realizing I need another fairy tale. What a revelation. I have placed an order with the Minnesota Twins to maintain my pitcher of the month club subscription. The Wells order was excellent. Am enjoying the Caulombe order from this spring as well. The Gibson order started off fresh, and still enjoying.
  20. I hope it goes without saying how much I appreciate your recaps . Job well done. Great job on the minors, too. Something I always look forward to, before getting yelled at by my boss.
  21. Because I am a cranky old man, this behavior escapes me. Why? Because I am a cranky old man, I tried to respond on my mobile device. Unsuccessfully. I am reduced to Old#5Fan Levitra status.
  22. Autistic triplets, for me. A really good article, and thanks for the link. Good thoughts headed to the parents who have replied in this thread. It's a challenge, but so rewarding. Until I just found out one of the triplets threw a pint of strawberries in the playroom. Good horizontal movement, mediocre spin rate. Can't see him going above Aberdeen this year.
  23. The only question I have is how can anyone not realize the value you bring to this website. Your retirement is our added gain. This is great stuff, and as usual, you do your research.
