  1. Gotta say it’s pretty impressive Stowers put up those #s in so few ABs (compared to you others he’s 10-15 ABs less than others on the list). After his time in Baltimore and his slow start in AAA he has been scorching.
  2. I see Nuñez made the bubble. He’s listed as SP tomorrow for Delmarva. Reading up on him sounds like he has a live arm and a killer slider (60 grade). Also sounds like an odd body type for a pitcher (short and stocky w/big lower half). In Fangraphs write up he was listed as the best arm (velocity wise) of the pitchers we got in the Lopez trade. Curious if @Tony-OH has seen him throw and any initial impressions. Gotta say all the sudden there are some intriguing arms in the lower minors. I plan to watch his outing tomorrow. 11am Game unless there’s a typo.
  3. Was looking through stats in the post and said to myself “it’s gotta be the big man” with 5 bombs and a 1.209. What a difference a year makes!
  4. Nice to see Ardoin on the list. Nice little 3 game hit streak that includes 3 doubles. Imagine they’d like to get him up to AA before they promote Willems.
  5. My thoughts exactly! Why can’t they figure that out so we can have baseball every night. 6 months is long enough!
  6. Off night. Unless I’m missing something.
  7. I really wanted him to make the team out of ST. All he does is perform and do what’s he’s asked. I don’t see a path for him with Frazier and Urias on the team.
  8. Yes, Monarch’s. Old school CAA represent! Historically a great baseball school pulling from Norfolk area and all throughout VA. Verlanders alma mater along with some other notables. Bruce Sutter, Daniel Hudson & Yarbrough went there as well. They’ve had a handful of first rounders. I’m still pissed the CAA broke up. Was consistently a top 3 conference behind ACC & SEC in 90s. Richmond, VCU, Old Dominion, East Carolina, JMU were consistently in top 25 and UNC Wilmington, William & Mary, and George Mason were no slouches.
  9. I was looking at his #s yesterday when prepping for the Elias Pitching acquisitions thread. He has been absolutely awful this year. Historically I’d say that’s reason for him to come out and crush us but I feel different this year. I think we lay it on him (if we face him - haven't checked matchups)
  10. I feel like Yarbrough owns us.

    Cade Povich 2023

Povich throws 5 pitches. He has a hammer 12/6 curve. Mixes in a cutter, slider and change. He’s a 6’3” with long arms and gets good extensions. Higher k/9 and lower bb/9. Fastball is sneaky fast at 94 especially when he pitches backwards. Curveball is plus and the slider change flirt with being plus at times. He’s 23 and lean and likely to add a tick or two On the FB. He’s free and easy and mixes all his pitches which makes for a tough AB. He can lose his command from time to time which is why he’s put up some stinkers every once in a while. But when he’s on, he’s darn good. Everything I’ve seen on social media points to a hard working driven young man.
  12. I went with the safe bet .750-.799 but if he maintains his k/bb rate and keeps putting the ball in play he will blow that # out of the water
  13. I think O's can make a legit run with SP1 acquisition, GRod, and Means in playoffs. I don't want a meh #2 or #3 type guy for our second tier prospects, I want a bonified big league #1 who can start all the playoff series and give us a solid chance to go up 1-0 before turning the ball over to ROY GRod.
  14. I'd be Ok with that price. I'd give up either Gunnar or Holiday if it got me Alcantara. Burnes was my guy going into the season, but as mentioned with MIL hot start he might not be available.
  15. Great post. I think that's very likely part of what's going on. Ps don't have to be as precise with the first pitch and they are getting ahead 0-1. Might be time for Gunnar to do some extra advanced scouting work and find a couple guys to ambush.
  16. I want a legit stud (someone like Burnes or Alcantara) that we could trade for and extend. I know it would cost a ton, but I'd be willing to give up what was needed.
  17. I’m a sucker for tall lefties with multiple breaking pitches who pitch backwards. I’ve seen him in starts where he has pinpoint control with multiple off-speed pitches and the batters are so off balanced because they have no clue what’s coming. The 93-94 FB plays like 98-99.
  18. I debated putting Lyles up there. The success he had last year after a down 2021 and how is performing currently is definitely something to take note of.
  19. I said Bradish & Wells in the Pen. I would not want either to start a playoff game. Bradish stuff would be electric out of pen. Wells would be my long man if a SP fell on his face.
  20. I agree on all points. Only guy I’m really high on and think could be a #3+ maybe #2 is Cade Povich. Happy with the Bradish and Wells acquisitions and think they are solid MLB contributors for 162, but would not be excited about either starting a playoff game
  21. If we make it the playoffs I’d be fine rolling with SP1 acquisition, GRod, & Means with Bradish & Wells in pen.
  22. He’s 6’2” - I think he’s be fine but that’s selling his D short. He can play 2b/ss/3B. I’d be fine if he was the super IF utility playing all over the IF but I think he loses a little bit of value just playing 1b. They want to showcase him as a MLB SS.
