I think he believes in himself a little too much. He must have off-the-charts vision. His ability to recognize pitches & locations is really darn near second to none and he’s only 21. Once he starts tattooing a couple mistakes, pitchers are going to get even more precise/conscious of his abilities and make more mistakes/miss more often. It’s just a patience game with this guy. He’s going to go off.
The LHP issues are a little concerning but I’m willing to give home a little lead way.
I don’t think he needs to be sent down or suggest he ought to, but if he were I’d be OK because he’d be replaced with Westburg or Ortiz and I believe in all their abilities. I think we look back at this at end of the year as a blip on the radar & Gunnar, Westburg, & Ortiz have all made significant contributions.
