  1. "Lot of pressure. You've gotta rise above it. You've got to harness in the good energy, block out the bad. Harness... energy... block... bad. Feel the flow, feel it. It's circular. Its like a carousel - you pay the quarter, you get on the horse. It goes up and down and around. Circular... circle. With the music, the flow. All good things.
  2. Pues, claro. Nadie es mejor que la montaña Enhorabuena campeón!
  3. It’s funny how calling you out on a ridiculous comment has morphed into you claiming I said Tony is clueless.
  4. No one on here knows what they are doing or how they operate. Even then incredibly knowledgeable and well-respected @Tony-OH doesn’t have insights into their plans, strategies, or tactics. It’s foolish to suggest otherwise.
  5. This is where I am. And to me, Cease is the upgrade over the Gibson type. Innings eater on steroids. Dream world would be a trade for Crease as innings eater type and a trade for a Burnes type talent for our playoff run next year. If we could get Cease AND Robert’s I’d put Holliday or Mayo on the table. Then reach out to MIL and see if we could get Burnes for Mullins & Kremer.
  6. Same reason folks were up in arms over the O’Hearn move last year. People don’t truly understand what this admin is doing.
  7. When you can upgrade your roster, you do it. And that’s what they’ve been doing slowly and methodically. See O’Hearn. There are many ways to do it. You can add a guy that figures to be a top 10 talent on your 40, everyone moves down a slot, and bottom guy gets jettisoned = roster improved. You can also upgrade your roster by adding a guy that figures to be in the 25-35 talent level and guys 35-39 move down and 40 get jettisoned = roster improved. Getting a stud talent to put at the top of the 40 to push all the talent down is not the only way to upgrade a roster. Pretty sure this guys isn’t someone they are looking to stick at the top of the rotation or back of the bullpen. Sounds to me like they are doing due diligence on a guy who could potentially be a 40 man roster upgrade. Not sure why anyone would think that’s going against their stated goals for the off-season:
  8. Hall, Wells, DC, Cano and Irvin are keepers. Not that I don’t like Perez, but wouldn’t mind moving on from him. I’m not a fan of Baumann or Webb. IMO Tate is done. Webb & Tate can go. Bauman & Perez could likely be traded. Perez k/9 Has dropped 3 years in a row & bb/9 up 1.3 over prior year. I’m not kicking him or Batman. Off the staff, but would 100% be looking to upgrade them.
  9. Oh, I’ve seen it talked about on here. Was just curious the quote it came from. Would love to see it and how acquiring the pitcher referenced in the thread is the complete opposite of the referenced quote.
  10. This move goes completely against what Elias himself has said he is targeting and wants to do
  11. One thing that I havnt seen mentioned much about Cease is that he’s lead the league in games started 2 of the last 3 years. The more and more I think about it, he’s very likely to be the guy they want to bring in. When’s the last time we had a SP with 200+ Ks in a season.
  12. Do you have a quote? I’ve heard/read him say he is looking to add starting pitching that could figure in to the top part of a rotation. He’d also been quoted saying that the orioles cannot compete with the very top pitching in the market and those pitchers will come from in house. you can never have enough pitching. If you have 9 good starters, they should add a 10th if possible. If you have 10, you should be looking for your 11th.
  13. If we added an impact starter ANd it would only take Urias I’d be OK for him to slot in at #5. I would not be happy if: 1. That was the only acquisition 2. It took prospect capital to land him
  14. It would make all the sense in the world to do this for the LFUR. 1. Simple branding for the franchise. If your stadium is packed, the brand optics improve. 2. In today’s world every human lives on social media. If you get a few thousand extra butts in seats, that’s incredible free advertising. Let’s say the average person have 300 followers. If you get ~3000 people in the seats, you’re broadcasting your product to ~1MM people.
  15. I’ve heard rumblings of $0 tickets for the new stadium on the strip in Vegas(or at least for a portion of the stadium). Folks are moving more towards an “entertainment venue” where people can congregate and spend money (and bet) vs. the tradition ballpark where baseball fans went to watch baseball games.
  16. It was a joke. My point is you can’t take these guys are their word no matter what they say. It’s all lip service. And who can blame them, they have a mic shoved in their faces on a daily basis. Actions speak louder than words.
  17. Unless we are looking for deep depth at high prices (we aren’t, we are the Os) I’d say there is very little to zero chance they are considering Quintana. He’s not an innings eater and he isn’t a playoff difference maker. He’s more of the same to what we already have.
  18. Thanks! I realize he wasn’t eligible. I was just curious how his talent level would fall in with the 2023 prospects. Thats right around where I thought he’d fall in talent wise.
  19. Pass. Not interested in giving up prospects for a 35 y/o 110 ERA+ guy. Outside of 2022 & 2016 he’s been pretty mediocre. If we can’t do better than Quintana, I’d rather hold serve.
  20. Fantastic post!!! I guess the good news is his BB% is far superior than all on the list.
  21. Thanks @Tony-OH!! If Stowers were still eligible for this list, where would you have him ranked?
