Well. Go back to work tomorrow. Had my post op last Tuesday. Have another that is probably just a billing opportunity. Still some faint traces of wrongness but very minor like a faint itching sensation. Turns out I had three separate polyp growths all within my maxillary sinus and everything above it was just congestion that couldn't drain.

I think that if anything all the stuff Bundy did prior to be drafted (including obscene pitch counts) was more likely to be a cause. I'll agree that it is impossible to know.

I think part of the issue with Gausman is he just couldn't develop a good breaking ball. Hard to be a starter as just a FB/Change guy. One year it'd be a curve, the next a slider than a slurve. None of them were a reliable swing and miss pitch.

For the most part I think you have to be so obvious that they can't ignore it to have any repercussions. I don't get why hitters don't care. I get the whole "You don't want a ball getting away and coming at your head at 95" thing but is it that much or a risk? But just look at Bauer this season: That's a huge increase and it improves all of their pitches.

Trevor Bauer thinks 70% of MLB pitchers use something, and that was before he started this season. (Yes he is using something, check out his spin rate) Unless you are pretty stupid about it, or have a GM playing manager on the opposing side, no one cares.

EVERYONE EVERYWHERE that knew who he was was making those comments about Yaz. What he is doing is extremely rare. Dude won the lottery, great for him but it's pointless to compare any other player to him. I have no idea what the expecting something great because of where they were drafted comment is about. No clue at all, I'm actually curious what you are talking about. I do agree that Hays hasn't proven he's a viable ML player.

At this point I'm thinking one of the surplus middle infielders gets converted. Someone like Hall could probably play a solid CF if he can't stick at short.

That is one of the things we differ on. I can imagine it being worse.

I think it's pretty unlikely. Of course I don't remember where he is on the lists currently but I don't think you'll see a big bump from a handful of starts.

Assuming Mountcastle and Kremer continue to play at this approximate level I don't see Kremer making the top 5.

No. A catcher moving his hand in a certain manner to deceive the umpire into thinking a pitch was a strike and not a ball is fundamentally the same as deceiving an umpire into thinking a pitch struck you.

Both are deceiving the ump right?

I love the way Jeter artfully deceived the ump into thinking he was hit by pitch that one time against the O's. What a skilled player!
