I agree, I was just giving evidence that you don't have the data to definitively say Santander is superior to Mountcastle.
I was not trying to make any claim of my own based on that tiny data set.
I understand the logic of what you are saying but I don't see a scenario in which they just cut him. It would be too large a PR hit. Now could the team and Mancini work out a lower base salary one year deal with incentives? That I could see.
If MLB channel starts making an effort to hype up the top baseball prospects and asks the media to follow suit I'm betting they could create buzz, particularly in a year when a large market team is picking first.
I don't think following college baseball is needed.
Must have been a tense two weeks for folks waiting for Mountcastle to uncork a questionable throw so they could start being critical. ?
I can see them now.
Finally, did you see that throw? I can complain about his defense!
But you think he's going to suck less batting L/L?
Why?
Most hitters do worse in that situation.
Isn't the more likely answer simply not to play him against left handed pitching?
I was responding to Roll Tide.
I'm also still not sold on Santander. He's looked real good for stretches but he can't seem to put together a "full season". Same deal with Sisco, starts hot, cools.
How is switch hitting his problem?
You think if he goes up against LHP left handed he's going to improve enough to play versus lefties?
Left handed pitching is a problem.
The problem in RF is solved by promoting Diaz.
Unless Mullins steals Little Yaz's Bag of Mojo TM he's not going to ever have UBER value. He's a fringe player.
