I think it is easier to send pitchers down than it is hitters. You can always point to an innings crunch as an excuse to send a guy down, even if he is pitching well.
I think you misunderstood my point. It didn't take the Astros multiple years to turn around the careers of folks like Verlander, Cole and Morton.
That is what we are talking about here, not overall winning and losing.

And it's hilarious how every piece of off the scrap heap pitching that gets grabbed to eat some non-competitive innings is ripe for a turn around under the Elias Pitching System TM.
I think a case can be made for each of those names that no definitive improvement has taken place. One of the names you listed has an ERA (and FIP) over 8 this season.
We have not seen the type of turnaround with pitchers that the Astros had. Not even close.
