I didn't see a first pitch fastball to him. Most of the strikes I saw barely clipped the zone and a lot of the pitches were not in the zone at all. When he was up with runners on last last night it was a first pitch change. So it looks, to me at least, like they are trying to get him to chase breaking balls that are either not strikes, or not strikes you can drive. After the two walk game they did start throwing more strikes but no idea if that was intentional or if the guys in game 1 just missed their spots.

I'm curious if other teams pitch to him the same way Boston did and what he does in response if they do. I think it will do a lot more for his development than glorified BP in Bowie.

That would be 2013, the same season he put up those numbers in Norfolk and the AFL. Yes Schoop did play in the majors that year, for all of 14 at bats.

I'm worried it extends beyond just being worried about having another Davis. I'm concerned the overall budget will be significantly lower, comparatively to what Peter was willing to spend. The team was more a middle of the pack spender with Peter, with the sons I'm worried they are going to be down with Pittsburgh and the Florida teams.
