  1. You can't part it out before the bank would repossess it. Just not enough time, even if you knew someone that needed a front clip and someone else looking for a drive-train.
  2. All cows have been genetically altered. That's what selective breeding does.
  3. Because I let it be known that I have multiple offers on the truck. That's the leverage. Each buyer knows that it's a profitable venture at 20K and they won't risk 5K of profit over $2,500. They also know that if the bank takes over the truck they are going to want 22K since they are going to want to recover expenses.
  4. If the O's are working the phones hard trying to trade a player 2 weeks before they have to offer him arbitration don't you think teams are going to notice? I don't think much leverage was lost here, I think teams had a pretty good idea that the O's were not going to tie themselves to Villar for his arbitration price.
  5. O's came very close to losing out on a ~6 win season from Steve Pearce because of roster constraints, so theoretically the impact of Davis taking up a slot could be significant.
  6. That's enough reason for me to want him gone, and I hate messing with rule V guys.
  7. Source for him not being regarded as a potential left fielder?
  8. Some value exists in freeing up a slot on the 40 and 26 man rosters.
  9. If they leave Mountcastle in AAA all season (again) I'll drive up with a Suburban full of torches and pitchforks.
  10. If it's a 25 thousand dollar truck I should get multiple folks interested in it and should be able to get 20K or so for it from one of them. That leaves a nice margin for the person buying the truck. If it's a 17 thousand dollar truck I'll be lucky to get someone to take over the payments.
  11. Like I said before the 2019 season it is really hard to lose 115+ games. Odds are good the 2018 team will hold onto the record for, well, worst record.
  12. I don't feel screwed. I felt more screwed in the 2000's when they were spending shortsightedly trying to get to .500.
  13. Why give anything up? There isn't a farm system in baseball that can't spare an Easton Lucas or two.
  14. They will probably perform well but I'm not certain that having a bunch of old for their level guys performing well is all that useful past posting good won/loss records.
  15. I think that if Villar had been traded before last season folks would be more understanding. I think folks are looking at this as a step back.
  16. If MLB as a whole thought it was a fair market salary for him the O's would have received a stronger return on the trade.
  17. Be that as it may I don't see the relevance of stating what payroll was under Peter when Peter is no longer setting payroll.
  18. The question to me is how often do owners subsidize their other businesses with profits from their teams? Eli Jacobs did for one.
  19. Over half of that wealth is the Orioles/MASN correct? Also, as I have already said, Peter is not the effective owner of the team anymore.
