Not sure it's fair to compare a HS catcher that debuted at 21 with a college catcher that debuted at 24. That being said Webbrick has this odd issue with Adley and has since he was drafted. He'll spin anything as negatively as he can.

I think Westburg is a lot more likely to have a 50 steal season than he is to accumulate 70 career WAR. He has the speed.

If you are looking for a player that blossomed after they left the Orioles Grich was a really poor choice. His four best seasons (rWAR) were with the Orioles. I find it "silly" when prospects get compared to HoF and near HoF players.

You sign them to a 4/88 contract and you flip them after the season.

Why pick a guy that they never saw play and should be in the Hall of Fame? Frobby listed two guys off the top of his head that qualify and aren't huge reaches. I never say Del Pratt play but I'd hate to see Westburg get traded! Is anyone else still sore he went to the Yankees in '18?

What does Bobby Grich have to do with anything? Grich is a HoF snub that left the O's due to free agency. Are you suggesting that Westburg is going to have a borderline HoF level career?

Yea, but I thought the same way about the O'Hearn move last season and that worked out better than anyone could have imagined.

It makes a lot of sense to make sure the O's are an actual contender before signing someone to a big (3/33M) deal. Wouldn't want to rush the process. Once the team is for sure established the money will be there. For the record Roch is never "cool" with being proven wrong.

Oh I just meant the O's won't go more than one year if at all possible.

I don't know, I think the strategy of packing up a lot of guys you don't want on the team is a strong one.
