  1. You mean guys that have no choice in where they play?
  2. Is this really a bigger deal than the ARod deal? That didn't immediately cause a huge spike in deals.
  3. If you get paid the going rate you aren't being overpaid.
  4. I'm sure the Angelos family does. Also 700 million over 25 years is not the same at 700 million over 10. There is a reason Lotto gives you a lot less if you want the lump sum.
  5. They are already averaging over 47K a game. Not sure if they can get to a full house (56K) on the daily.
  6. No he won't. Did you not see the part about massive deferments? Future money is less valuable than present money. The real value of the deal is going to be significantly lower than the headline number we are seeing.
  7. Nice post. But you didn't say anything that makes me think that overall the O's were "In the stone age". Behind, sure I'll give you behind. I'll even give you stone age in the International scene. You talk of the farm, let's look at the 2023 roster and see who was added during Dan's drafts. Feel free to chime in if I make a mistake. Mountcastle (sup first), Hays (3rd), Mullins (13th), Hall (1-21), Means (11th), and Rodriguez(1-11). No top 10 picks. I think maybe Dan was pretty decent at drafting.
  8. So that's why my order of a Hyun-soo Kim jersey didn't go through back in the day, they realized I wasn't Korean. I'd been wondering.
  9. It's pretty insulting to Dan, whom I did have issues with, to call the team under his leadership "in the Stone age". Dude did what he could. Contrary to what some folks like to think the Analytics program under Dan wasn't an empty office and the farm was not bereft of talent. You don't need to tear someone down to make someone else look good. I also think you pulled that top 10% figure out of thin air.
  10. So the Orioles were a true talent 101 win club and the Padres were a true talent 82 win team?
  11. Because they are going to have to uproot their families and move to another country. That's way different than Barkley, who is probably unduly swayed by the presence of poutine.
  12. I'm going to go ahead and repeat what I wrote the last time you posted this. I see the word tentative so I'm still expecting a rug pull.
  13. I'm fully expecting it to be mentioned in some capacity.
  14. It's only one year for Soto. Probably going to be a decade of Ohtani.
