  1. Did Grayson have decent enough success in the majors from 2020-2022? Also would Grayson be coming off an IL stint and not a demotion? This is closer to what happened with Cole Irvin and folks were not this unhinged about him coming back.
  2. Might have to throw in Hall or Mateo.
  3. Who said his stats last year were great? No one. Why do you feel a need to make things up?
  4. I'd be inclined to throw out 2020, we are talking about 140 plate appearances and he had that odd spike in infield singles (he hit .395 on ground balls in 2020). Unless anyone thinks him having a 333 BA was sustainable? The only reason to not disregard it is you then have a guy that put up pretty similar years at 114 and 108 OPS+ before struggling in a partial season this year.
  5. To me the question with batting order is this. Given how small an impact lineup order has, it it more advantageous to maximize player comfort? If Adley prefers hitting second let him hit second.
  6. I'm fine thanks. I get irked when folks misrepresent my comments.
  7. I could see him hitting for a number of guys in the 9th if they need a dong.
  8. Once again I'm not saying I'm in favor of calling him up today. But this isn't some catastrophic event.
  9. Obviously you do or you wouldn't have responded and hit me with a neg rep. Now I'm probably going to watch you do it again, since you still won't care what I think.
  10. Seriously? You don't think there is value in extended data sizes? Did you think that Soto was washed up when he had a rough (for him) start to the year? After all who cares about last year's stats! That can't be your actual opinion can it?
  11. I think you are wrong. You might want to stay up on the news before you make predictions.
  12. No. This is what they are saying. That isn't a nuanced take. It's silliness. I can't believe this? Really? You can't believe that they would call up the teams OD starting 1B now that he's healthy? That's an unbelievable situation? He's probably going to PH and start against LHP as long as O'Hearn does well. It's not some hugely damaging move that folks are making it out to be.
  13. Can't you folks read? Where did I say I want him getting at bats today? Go ahead, show me! Where did I say I'm in favor of him getting called up today? Go ahead, show me! What I said is the amount of angst over this move is ridiculous. Folks are acting like he's the worst player in the league and beyond all hope of ever doing anything useful on the field again.
  14. Yea, it's CRAZY to put in the 26 year old with a career OPS+ of 110 over the 29 year old with a career OPS+ of 90. That's completely unjustifiable! Also keep in mind I did say I was fine with not bringing him up right now. I'm not advocating for him so much as just pointing out how ridiculous you all sound.
  15. I would have been fine if they had kept him down until he showed more at AA that being said. He isn't some butcher at first base like some contend. The data doesn't support that claim. He isn't a platoon bat, him hitting better VS LHP is a recent thing and SSS. Elias and company are not going to weigh his performance this season over his career numbers. His career 1400 AB with an OPS+ of 110 mean more than the 89 OPS+ he put up over 242 AB this season. You folks are better than this.
  16. Is it? If the hang time allows can't most ML outfielders pull a ball just over the fence back into the park? This ain't me and my two inch vertical out there.
  17. I don't honestly know. I've never bothered to look under the hood for that one.
  18. He's extremely aggressive and is going to look bad on occasion but man it's fun to watch.
  19. On the bright side the numbers aren't bad at all. The only objection I have to him being on the team is that I think another team could better utilize him. I think he's a starter somewhere.
  20. I wouldn't be surprised to find out the Cardinals aren't sure what direction they are going to go in. They aren't used to this type of season.
  21. His career OPS+ is 108, his high leverage OPS+ is 117 (108 in 2023). His medium leverage number is lower than his combined number. I don't think he's got the clutch skill.
  22. Hey now, the stats reflect the poor defense.
  23. What I heard is that the Cardinals were looking to trade bats for controllable arms.
  24. I don't think the O's made a flat out statement of that sort. That seems out of character. Elias did say that no good evidence exists showing that inning caps lower injury risk.
  25. Evidently the last time someone stole second, third and home during the same at bat was Rod Carew back in 1969.
