  1. Breezy was .3%. My guess is folks thought Wiggy would score lower so he didn't. He was the obvious choice for an obscure one.
  2. What was he worth? I would have gone with Flat Breezy.
  3. Yep, seemed like every spring there was someone trying to make a comeback. Jair Jurrjens, Johan Santana...
  4. Sure I'm brusque, but at least I'm not gross. You on the other hand...classy comment there. If you had paid any attention to my posts you will see that I agreed with the idea that he didn't need to be called up. I didn't miss that point at all. But when you brought to my attention the value Frazier brings to the team as the guy that knows how to pack for road trips you managed to turn me around on the whole idea. I can see the guys without his expert help. I found a picture of Adley heading to the airport last year, before Frazier came over to help.
  5. Ted Williams retired in 1960. Griffey's rookie year was 1989. Felix Hernandez's last season was 2019. Not quite the same thing. Also I don't think the Seattle social media was as douchey about it.
  6. https://www.si.com/fannation/mlb/fastball/news/baltimore-orioles-social-media-team-offends-seattle-mariners-fans-with-regard-to-tweet-about-felix-bautista I wouldn't have done it, but I also wouldn't have harassed him during the All Star game celebration.
  7. It's sure less objective than "My eyes tell me player A is better" which was the standard for decades.
  8. I'll be a bit suprised if Grayson gets shut down due to innings after Elias' comments earlier in the year.
  9. Oh so Frazier beats him out on the skill of experience which is something you just made up so you can continue to pick Mountcastle. Makes sense.
  10. Folks have run 30 marathons in 30 days. I doubt the fatigue from participating in a HR lingers all that long.
  11. It was a pair of 16th round college arms if I remember correctly. They were organizational depth.
  12. They use hot balls for the derby. If they use them to get Judge the HR record you know they will use them in the Derby.
  13. The O's gave away two draft picks to dump contracts. You don't think the Orioles actually wanted Brandon Barker and Trevor Belicek do you?
  14. So one owner should be able to do something the sport has collectively decided that they don't think they should be allowed to do because they feel it would be damaging to the sport. I don't agree.
  15. Was that you admitting you were wrong? The so what is that the other owners have the right to stop them, and they have.
  16. WAR isn't that subjective Batting Runs (RBI)- not subjective Fielding Runs Above Average - You need some way to measure defense Positional Adjustment - reasonable to me, the ability to play catcher is more valuable than the ability to play first base League Adjustment - Of course deadball and steroid era stats should not be treated the same Base Running Runs - not subjective Runs Added or Lost Due to Grounding into Double Plays- not subjective /Runs Per Win. Had you ever looked into what went into WAR?
  17. I don't think you can make that case. Didn't you yourself say the Davis contract didn't stop the Orioles from making moves? How much help would getting rid of it be? The team could release the player in question. All this would do is save the owners money.
  18. Frazier is slower, has less power and is worse at the defensive positions that he plays.
  19. The Orioles have literally traded draft picks for salary relief under the current system on more than one occasion.
  20. The other owners have the right to restrict them for the good of their own franchises, which is what they are doing. Are you suggesting they don't have that right?
  21. I think Adley having a great showing and getting bounced anyway is the best possible outcome.
  22. No. The draft pick would have included the associated pool money. The pick was worth more than Adley was after he was drafted. MLB shouldn't be making it easier for owners to choose profitability over competitiveness.
