  1. Thanks for that tidbit, now I know what I need to do if I even need you out of a room.
  2. Funny how there was less complaining in the game thread when the team was in last place.
  3. Considering how he looked in the fifth they might have lost if they had let him keep pitching.
  4. If the team had twenty five wins they could afford to play Mateo.
  5. Plenty has been written about the attendance issues the Rays have.
  6. Finally. Hopefully they can straighten out the rest without resorting to the courts. Should make the Nats easier to sell.
  7. The coach is there to win games not worry about long term consequences. I put it on the player for choosing to play under the coach.
  8. Right, and since it's a best of three that means at least two games.
  9. In the vast majority of cases increased performance with RISP is not a repeatable skill.
  10. First off a quick peek shows that Johnson had a K rate at or over 10 in both 86 and 87. Secondly I question comparing minor league K rates between now and 35 years ago. Did I say anything was outside the real of possibility? I said it isn't a reasonable thing to dream on.
  11. I'd rather not paint any group with that broad a brush.
  12. I hope he's the type of player that doesn't need someone to fire him up and motivate him.
  13. I think that if the team was telling him to sacrifice power for getting on base that the gap between his BA and OBP would not be smaller. I don't think the O's ever told Hays he had to be a 30-40 home run guy and I think if the current regime is giving him any guidance at all it would lead to more of a gap between BA and OBP not a smaller one. I think Hays is just having the season he's having and you are reading too much into things.
  14. I'm not bullying, I'm wondering why you decided to use a quote to describe an injury. You didn't quote the whole passage such as "Jorge Lopez was placed in the IL for Mental Health". You just decided to use quotes for the injury. I think you should "know better" as using quotations in that manner can have a variety of different meanings. If you are going to tell me that you would have used quotes to describe an injury such as a hamstring pull, I'll believe you. But don't pretend that your statement wasn't open to misinterpretation or that I was the only one to question it.
  15. Are you honestly suggesting that if Lopez was suffering from a pulled hamstring they would have said Jorge Lopez was placed in the IL for a "Pulled Hamstring"?
  16. Why did you put mental health in quotes? I'll wait here while you explain.
  17. I think they need to deaden the ball so it doesn't benefit hitters with marginal power to try and elevate everything. But MLB doesn't want to do that.
  18. I showed the last 10 seasons, 247 falls right in line with the average over that time period. All it did was take a bit of strategy out of the game.
  19. The league is hitting .247 this year. That's the highest since....2019. The last 10 years: 247/243/244/245/252/248/255/254/254/251 Some of us said that getting rid of the shift wasn't going to make much of a difference. So far we haven't been proven wrong.
  20. Can you explain why, in this scenario, his OBP is only 40 points higher than his batting average? That's actually lower than his career numbers.
