  1. No cheese, just crust and sauce. And the beer will be warm.
  2. Hey they got an out!
  3. He was already a member. I didn't know a 1/1 E/A ratio was even possible at first base.
  4. Something, something fewer errors than Gunnar Henderson.
  5. Hyde will randomly pull him after six and a third.
  6. HE'S GOT FIVE RINGS. Kerr has FOUR RINGS. Kerr won in 21-22. I don't even watch basketball and I know this.
  7. The 2011 team went 69-93. Buck was the manager.
  8. Spurs have had the same coach since '97. Most of his roster probably wasn't born when he got the job.
  9. I don't disagree. I just don't see reasoning behind the near deification of Buck that some folks have. Is 2012 all that much more impressive than Hyde's 2022? Buck's team won 24 more games. Hyde's won 31 more.
  10. The same Buck Showalter that the manager of an expansion team? The same Buck Showalter that took over an O's team that was well under .500 in 2010? I would think that an ALL IN win now manager would have, you know, WON at some point. You know what Buck's winning percentage in the playoffs is?
  11. I'm not blaming, just pointing out that other paths were available.
  12. I'll argue that if they had expended more draft capital on pitchers that they might have had more ML ready depth to back fill the injuries. Obviously it's a might, we can't say with any certainty how those theoretical pitchers would have developed.
  13. All I hear are excuses. I believe: Buck kept Davis on the team. Buck kept Tillman on the team. Buck kept Trumbo on the team. Buck kept O'Day on the team.
  14. He was better than Buck. The Stats show it. Much better player as well.
  15. Again, I haven't said that. Not sure why you keep lying about it. I don't care if Hyde comes back next year or not. I'd have no problem at all with Buck Britton getting a shot. (for instance)
  16. He could have expended more draft capital on pitchers over the years. He created a lack of pitching depth by concentrating on accumulating position player depth.
  17. Buck was part of the controversy and was instrumental in keeping those declining players on the team. How can you possibly give him credit for 2012 and excuse away 2018?
  18. https://www.amazon.com/Weaver-Strategy-Classic-Managing-Baseball/dp/1574884247
  19. You want stats? You downvoted me saying that Dum Dum was better than Buck. Here is a stat for you. Buck Showalter's winning percentage as a manager .509. Davey Johnson's winning percentage as a manager .562. Davey also has a ring.
  20. And he gets no blame for 2018? You take the good you take the bad you take them both and there you have: The fact of life.
  21. Can you go ahead and show me where I have ever stated that Hyde can take the O's to a WS Championship? Frankly I don't think the manager makes much of a difference the vast majority of the time. Get to the playoffs and roll the dice. I've never heard anyone wax poetic about Joe Altobelli.
  22. He did. He also managed to lose 115 games with some pretty talented players in 2018. Bucks' got a career winning percentage of .509. That seems about right to me.
  23. I know reading isn't your strong point but I literally said that Earl was great. Buck also lost more than he won and wasn't better than Davey Johnson.
  24. I didn't say if they were or were not great managers. I asked how many rings they won as manager. For the record. Earl was great, but should have stayed retired. Buck is hugely overrated.
