  1. Most teams don't have more than a couple projected regulars that get promoted each year. Baltimore has been collecting inventory in the minors for five years.
  2. While I wasn't pleased with how vague the comment was it could be something as simple as Covid or Mono. I'd be more concerned if the team made a habit of being forthcoming.
  3. Quoting threads changed with the most recent update.
  4. Bemboom was also mentioned in the post I quoted.
  5. I, of course, don't know the ins and outs but I have to think that actual medical records by an actual doctor have to be present showing an actual medical condition. Hopefully the issue is responsible for the less than stellar results we have been seeing.
  6. Frazier is a LHH that plays 2B and CO. Elias wanted a LHH that plays 2B and has some positional flexibility. Don't think it has anything to do with Gunnar. Maybe if Ortiz or Westburg had been LHH the plan would have been to use one of them?
  7. That's not vague at all.
  8. So what left handed infield prospect is Frazier protecting us from? Elias straight out said a large consideration for signing Frazier was that he bats left handed.
  9. Yea, I think you are confused. If his approach was bad he wouldn't have 10 walks despite not hitting for average or power against them. That doesn't sound like Mateo to me.
  10. His approach or his results? The results aren't good but his approach has led him to a .313 OBP despite a .132 BA/SLG.
  11. I think Elias has his plan and how Gunnar is doing is not going to cause him to deviate from his plan (with the exception being that if Gunnar's approach had broken down that might have caused a demotion that might necessitate someone else being promoted).
  12. I'm not even looking at it from the side of what the players they gave up did. It don't like the process. Parra was ripe for regression and his defensive numbers were down. Pearce was a move to placate the manager (imo).
  13. If you google him a picture of him playing for Baltimore shows up. He put up a -.3 rWAR, so I'm unsure how important his contribution was.
  14. You don't need to over analyze to come to the conclusion that trades for players like Pearce (in that season) and Parra are not going to suddenly take a team with remote chances of making noise in the playoffs and turning them into a real contender.
  15. First off he doesn't know. It might look like two weeks now and he has a setback. Also, seven weeks counts as weeks not months. I'm guessing the ASB.
  16. I had high expectations after watching stuff like this.
  17. If a pitcher knows his catcher can block well it frees them up to throw pitches that might not otherwise risk.
  18. I've noticed that the framing and blocking have dropped off a bit. He also seems thicker through the chest this year, I wonder if it might be effecting his mobility back there.
  19. No idea. Would have depended on what the overall situation was like.
