  1. I see the opposite. An expiring contract lowers both the acquisition cost and the team's long term financial commitment.
  2. What's your definition of top prospect?
  3. From what I've seen the actual park factors are not that severe for Aberdeen. Sadly, the best source for those that I've found is behind the BA paywall.
  4. Assuming his pitching stays at close to this level I don't see why he wouldn't opt out unless a team signed him to an extension that would be roughly equivalent to what he'd get if he opted out. He can do better than 3/49 on the market.
  5. Unless it isn't actually 314 down the line.
  6. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/gunnar-henderson-is-off-to-a-slower-start-than-expected/ That's a good read.
  7. I think we have two main things holding the team back from being players for a front line pitcher. I think Elias is overly risk adverse and I think ownership isn't willing to take on much additional payroll.
  8. Come on now. As if either one of us can't recognize someone being argumentation just for the sake of being argumentative.
  9. If you end up getting walked on a pitch that should have been called strike 3 luck was involved in that "true" outcome.
  10. Yep, and a HR that is a HR in either 1 or 3 ballparks out of 30 is a product of luck.
  11. Of course there is luck. You think Frazier's HR last night wasn't the product of luck?
  12. My guess is an old "friend" has returned.
  13. Took 10 pitches to finish him off. That's not viable for a starting pitcher.
  14. Did he pass anyone or just get moved up when Grayson and Gunnar graduated?
